Neon Tyrant is a co-op vertical shmup where togetherness is a mechanic: fly close to bond shields, rescue downed wingmates under fire, draft run-defining perks. Campaign, endless, daily runs, boss rush — 1-4 pilots, local or online. Flying solo? Hire an AI wingman that learns. Everything glows.

Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 0/day in the week to Aug 31 → 0/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 25 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 10 places towards #1, and the 2,413 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
About
The Tyrant's fleet has swallowed six sectors. Someone has to fly into the light — better if you don't fly alone.
Neon Tyrant is a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up in the spirit of the classics, rebuilt around one idea: co-op that actually means something.
TOGETHERNESS IS A MECHANIC
Bond beams — fly close to a wingmate and your shields regenerate twice as fast, kills score more, and defensive power-ups are shared.
Active rescue — when you fall, you're not out. You're a drifting wreck with 15 seconds on the clock, and your partner must fly to you and hold position under fire. The rescue link glows green. Nobody forgets their first save.
Quick pings, shared credits, one team — up to 4 pilots, local, LAN or online through Steam.
FLYING ALONE? HIRE A WINGMAN
An AI combat drone with its own hull, shield and arsenal — every weapon you can buy, it can carry.
Three AI cores: Mk I shoots what's in front of it. Mk II leads targets, dodges and picks its fights. Mk III reads the whole screen — and learns: every hunt teaches it which enemies to respect.
It can die. Repairs cost. Take care of your wing.
A RUN THAT'S YOURS
9 evolving weapons — every weapon levels 1-5, growing new bullet streams as it matures.
20 draftable perks — between sectors, each pilot picks a boon: ricochet rounds, a dead man's switch, a guardian angel. Bosses drop rarer relics. No two runs build alike.
4 unlockable ships, secondary weapons, mega bombs, sidekick drones.
SIX BOSSES WITH NAMES AND MANNERS
VANGUARD, HYDRA, LANCER, MINEKING, PHANTOM and the TYRANT PRIME — each with its own patterns, phases and telegraphed laser columns that will absolutely catch you talking.
MORE WAYS TO FLY
Campaign — six story sectors plus a secret one for those who finish.
Endless — survive the scaling void.
Daily Run — one attempt, same seed for everyone, global leaderboard.
Weekly Ops — one week, one twisted ruleset, one board.
Seed Forge — type a word, get a war. Share the word, share the war.
Boss Rush — six thrones, one clock.
Keyboard, mouse or gamepad. 1-4 players — local, LAN and online co-op.
Reviews
Great game with tons of fun and nostalgia. kept me entertained the whole time, and I would definitely buy it again. Highly recommended! FTW :)
Modern take on the classic top-down space shooters with a nice retro minimalistic vibe, clean visuals paired with driving synth music got me into the zone quickly. Gameplay mechanics were smooth and the levels challenging, the progression system is nicely crafted and made me want to keep playing.
Fun game all things considered. Good progress based gameplay. Audio and music soundtrack is good. Overall fun game. Checked steam charts and me and my buddy are the first 2 players. Having fun the past 2 hours grinding it out. Much more difficult than it seems at first. Only con I can point out is your character randomly moving back to the center bottom of the screen all the time. Not sure if its a feature or not but either way its annoying and adds to the difficulty. Over all give it a 8.5/10 solid co op game to bs with your friends on. 3 hours in and you hit a wall maxed out and you cant progress any further. Certain enemies are almost impossible to defeat based off the massive amount of bullet spray leading you into a spot where you cant get close to kill them. Reading more into the game it was produced with AI and it shows. I do not support AI nor do I suggest this AI slop

My friend skizzius who i played this game with coop with also left a review. although he recommended it, at the same time he and i both say dont buy it unless its on sale for like 3 dollars. we maxed out our ships and stuff only 2.6 hours in. and you kinda hit a wall, the upgrades dont even work like they say they will, for example lvl 3 adds another stream for zica laser and it doesnt add another stream lol. The game was made using Ai if you look on the steam page. its fun for maybe 1-2 hours with a friend and then it falls off. maybe the dev will fix it, at maxed out ship and wingman you shouldnt be struggling on act 2 out of 6,. some enemies you cant dodge cause they fill the whole screen literally.
