Drag your cards with undead like a f****** maniac not paying much attention to what's going on on the screen in order to destroy enemy's troops and towers of doom and annihilate them like there's no tomorrow. I like the art direction. I like the music. Gameplay is basic - throw area spells and send troops to battle. Between fights you move from point to point making some decisions along the way. You can collect souls which stand for wealth (upgrades and buying). Improve your deck, exchange some cards for a better ones etc. Not bad but more for casual players.
THE UNIQUES: Nothing to say here. PLAYER GAMING REQUIREMENTS: 💼 Tower Defence. 💼 Real Time Tactics. 💼 Roguelite. PROS: + Three heroes to play, with different troops for each character. (Note: You do need to complete the campaign to play the other heroes.) CONS: - Story is very short and uninteresting, after the 5 hour mark, you've seen pretty much everything with the other heroes having the same story, just with different cards. - The music is repetitive and annoying, ended up muting the game, the sounds aren't much good either. - Controls are quite frustrating which is rather surprising when keyboard and mouse are rather accurate, i'm not sure how they messed this up but occasionally clicking the left mouse on a unit and dragging it on the field doesn't work. - It feels like a mobile port, I could see this doing much better on a mobile to be honest. - Annoying bugs! Sometimes melee units will walk back and forth while ranged units pick them clean. VERDICT: It's simply not worth it's price while it's in this state and since it's been taken out of Early Access, I don't see them doing anything drastic to chance my mind, you can see what the devs are trying to do here but this would've been better suited as a mobile game, which is credit towards the developers. It's just not PC worthy. Total Score = 23/100. GAMEPLAY: Deck-building roguelike with an RTS twist. Build a deck. Collect and deploy undead units and raise an army to counter your enemies. ■■□□□□□□□□ 2 / 10 Not the most ideal game. RECOMMEDED SPECS: It'll run on anything.
If this game was $5 then I'd say go for it -- if only for the interesting concept of ideas mashed together. At $20, the answer is definitely no. There's not enough here to justify that price. That said, the game is fun for 10 minutes until you realize the little depth there actually is. No difficulty setting that I could see other than trogging through the very long runs until the boss. By the ... 5th? 8th level? I forget... I had easily beaten the difficulty but had to wait for the timer to end to win. There were survive for X seconds levels with the enemy main castle buffed to 1 shot anything you throw at it and obscene amounts of health. That level of artificial difficulty to force you to wait the 480 seconds to win is just lame and boring. TLDR: Questionably worth $5 to play its unique blend of genres. Obscenely unbalanced and overpriced at $20. Don't bother.
The first thing Necronator asked me to do was choose between numerical buffs when I literally hadn't seen game-play yet. The game plods along with little interest from characters, art, or design. Combat is also slow and un-engaging. There are plenty of Tower Defense games that are more worthy of your time than Necronator.
Enjoyable, but a bit basic. The animations are cute and the gameplay is fun, but the dialogue already started looping fairly quickly. I upgraded a couple of cards and each time it gave me the same little story about how the monsters were racing eachother... So within 10 minutes I'm already skipping text. The gameplay is enjoyable, if a bit hectic at times. It's like an anti tower defense, with a card mechanic. And that's pretty cool, I like that. I did the first level, it took a little while but it went by without a hitch... Then the next ten levels were basically instant and I absolutely mullered the enemy. Which felt very boring... Just as I got my army built up to storm all at once, a single scout I sent out earlier destroyed the enemy castle on their own... Oh... that's disappointing. I'm sure it gets harder as you go on through the game, but to have to play through something this boring and simple before I get to the fun bit, isn't a great first experience. The game has the potential to be great, but the early game is boring. I'm going to keep playing it later and will amend this review as I advance. But right now, the only difficulty seems to be that the enemies come from lot's of different directions, and there's a cooldown on changing the directions your troops move, hence, hectic... But ultimately, it's easy and you don't really need to bother thinking ahead. A bit disappointed to be honest. I like the game, and do recommend it, but get it on a discount. As it's a bit basic.
Love this game and is game play. Just wish there was much more content, the game is very short for the cost too. Really need more content pls
Meh...
Abandoned and unfinished. Do not buy. It gets boring and repetitive very fast and there is a huge lack of content. I honestly regret buying this
