Sadly I can't recommend this game there is so much develop: -The music needs to be adjusted -most of the features for the map are not working at all because it doesn't show the areas you already discovered (in grey) they are still black and also enemies doesn't appear. -the control over your units needs to be improved aswell: like a box to show characteristics like: HP, attack ,etc or a better understanding of their commands. -there is no "map" at the campaing or a way to show progress like in which stage you are even if you want to get through your talent points. -The movement thorugh the game needs to be adjusted because you can only see a small zone and it's quite hard to move from a part no another over the map taking so much time. in my opinion it's like if it is still in a Beta stage
I liked the basic concept and story, but gameplay is just not very fun. Every mission plays the same, units are terribly slow, UI has some problems. The end was just ... weird? Not sure if it even was the end. This could have been something like They Are Billions in a fantasy setting but it isn't.
I don't know if its a bug or what, but its basically unwinnable by stage 5. It wants you to summon a hero unit, but doesn't give you the resources to do that.
I think there is a fun and quirky story, but I don't care to find out because the gameplay is repetitive and boring. It's clunky to control, with a lot of features that actively make it flow poorly. There are 3 resources, and you receive them all at a fixed rate that you cannot improve. This means that there's no feeling of developing your city, since all you do is wait around for more bones and magic stuff to be mined. There are chests on each map, which contain caches of resources, but at a certain point, all the chests contain the same 5 swords, 3 claws, and some stone. After a while, stone is only used for building houses and generators for said houses, and you have way more than you need. Bones and magic both go into creating their respective army units, as well as intermediary products for said units. In order to make the units efficiently, you have to micromanage (turn off) the production of intermediary products. The traps seem cool, but they don't do much and they stop working when attackers take out the obelisk that powers them. The obelisks get destroyed in 1 hit. If traps, towers and attacking units used different resources, that would encourage you to make all three and find ways to make use of them. As it is, they are all (heavily) gated by the few resources you get, so the only viable tactic is to make attacking units. And then you do the same thing, level after level.
I like the premise and the great characters a lot. The tower defense mixed with base and army building is great too. What I don't like is it get very very repetitive. There's only one type of node for each resource on every map so there is essentially no expansion. And the attack waves don't have much variety.
Despite the name, it's more of a traditional RTS (AoE, SWGB. RoN) than an actual city-builder; levels are mission-based with no long-term progression, your resources are limited to specific spots on the map that you cannot change, and enemies spawn in waves at pre-set intervals. When viewed through this lens, it's not a bad little piece; translation is rough, UI is a bit of a mess, and explanations for some mechanics are lacklustre, but the graphical styling is nice and the gameplay is pretty straightforward (for better or worse). For $10, I really don't think it deserves "Mixed".
the game starts out good but later on it shows it's limitations, if it had more custom game modes it would be a much better game. progression isn't very interesting.
