Too late for me, but save yourself the coin. Game is similar to last year. Defense feels better. Passing is still a ♥♥♥♥ show. Changes to MyNBA were much needed, but still leaves much to be desired. MyCareer is dumb as hell, and you will need to put at least an hour or two in the story before you even get a chance to join the NBA. Forced drills, stupid story, VERY slow progress while being forced to do the story as well. I wish I'd have stuck with '26. This game ain't worth it. I'll play it since I'm stuck with it and I want my money's worth, but you should spend your dough elsewhere. I hope that when I eventually revisit this review, I can change it to a more positive one. I'll leave it at that.
The fact I spent 100 dollars on this makes me want to strangle a newborn. 90% of the game is copy and pasted from last year. The citys the same, the graphics the same, the bugs, the same. They made the badge system as tedious and as stupid as possible. The game is now unplayable for me and crashes after every loading screen after a day 2 update. I hate this game, I hate these people, I hate that I bought this ♥♥♥♥ again. Don't buy this game unless you hate yourself.

It is unbelievable how NBA 2K continues to be the exact same game year after year, copy-pasted with the exact same legacy flaws and only a handful of minimal tweaks that sound good in marketing material like "X thousand new animations." What are you people actually working on all year if this is what you release as a full-price, brand-new title? There are countless issues in this game, but take player tendencies for example. Do you ever actually adjust shooting and touch tendencies and simulate a season to see if the results make any sense? If you did, you would notice that someone like Luka Dončić - who averages 33 points in real life - drops down to 21 points a game in simulation. How is that not an immediate red flag that something is fundamentally broken? This is something I could fix for you for free, yet year after year, it remains completely neglected. Another issue that completely ruins immersion are generated draft classes. Randomly generated players end up looking like disproportionate, bizarrely scaled monsters. Is it really that hard to scan 50 to 100 real people - even fans who opt in - and build a decent pool of realistic face presets that we can customize with different hair and features? It’s a basic quality-of-life feature that they haven't been able to figure out for over a decade. When you haven't been capable of fixing simple issues like this for years, focusing only on how to resell the exact same product with a "NEW" sticker attached to squeeze money out of people, it's clear where your priorities are. But the problem is also on us - we keep giving you a chance because of our love for basketball, so we buy the game every year anyway. We have to draw the line somewhere and say STOP, and today is that day for me. I am requesting a full refund right after posting this, and you will never get another cent from me until you fundamentally change. Thankfully, there are always plenty of good games out there that actually respect their players.

the referee is glitched and cannot pick up the ball in mycareer, restarted my game multiple times and the glitch keeps occurring

To start: This game is 100% the mid season patch 2k26 should've had. It is literally 2k26 reskinned. Now the changes to shooting and defense I personally LOVE! New storyline but its the same AI Slop. I was going to leave a positive review because even though it's just a reskin. I find gameplay for some reason genuinely more enjoyable? Wtf? But then 24 hours into the games life, they drop a nerf on XP and VC gain. Slowing Down Progression ALREADY!?! Nah
