About
The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where only two humans have survived: the protagonist and the hero.
You will assume the role of the protagonist as she fights to survive alongside Harunashi Mika, the game's hero.
The game itself is a visual novel where the player will be frequently required to make tough choices in order to guide the characters through the harsh and unforgiving world they find themselves in.
Your choices will cause their relationship to develop and determine the conclusion of the story.
There are a wide variety of different endings.
The protagonist and Mika might simply work together to survive; they might develop romantic feelings for one another and become a new Adam and Eve; they might be unable to find common ground and go their separate ways.
Perhaps there are even endings where they choose to give up on life entirely...
Everything is determined by your choices!

"The guided part of the tour is over. Your life in the wasteland begins now! We shall await the conclusion of your story with bated breath!"

SO SO SO SO GOOD :') I've been waiting ever since this game was announced, and im happy with the overall experience of playing the game. I absolutely adore the relationship between Mika + Hikari and how it progressed through the story. My heart felt so full and destroyed at the same time while playing the game. It may be hopeful thinking on my end, but I'd love to maybe see a sequel?
I think Navigatore of the Ruined World / Hounavi was a decently written title despite its short length. The vn explored both characters well enough for me to be able to understand them and sympathize with their plight, however, I do have a few minor gripes... When this game was first announced and marketing for it began, I was on the fence on the idea of having a single love interest game where the protagonist is left unvoiced. While I know this is not the first game to introduce such a format, I think leaving Hikari (MC) unvoiced did not do this game any favors in terms of immersion. Especially with the setting of hounavi where they are the only two characters present in the game and no one else, the atmosphere of the VN itself felt....incredibly empty to me, because Mika is the only one who has a voice. The idea and main theme of hounavi (or at least what I think is the theme) is a story of two people offering each other companionship and support in a perilious world where everything is in ruins, I think it would have been better for the narrative for Hikari to have a voice, to deepen that sense of companionship and the idea that 'it's two people working together and trying to find their way to survive even if there is nothing left'. While playing, it just felt incredibly jarring for Mika to be the only one to have a voice,
especially there is no other character in the cast besides Hikari for him to bounce off from in terms of interactions, as they are the only people left in the world
. I think having an unvoiced protagonist is fine
if there were other people in the cast to fill the void of them being silent
but I just found myself scratching my head. Although, even with my problems from the production side of things, I think the game is written well enough for me to be convinced of their bond and Hikari as a character, it was just a shame that I couldn't hear her speak when she had a very lively personality that I enjoyed following as a reader. This game had a whopping 17 endings, I think to fully experience the game and to get to know its world and characters, the endings with CGs are at least required reading. Although personally, I think this game would have benefitted to be longer, I think there were a lot of things that could have been expanded on and explored, but this is just me not being used to short VNs haha so don't mind this section too much. I sometimes felt that this game played things too safe for my liking even with its bleak setting, although I'm no expert on post apocalyptic settings so maybe this is just how it is? Anyhow, I don't really have any major complaints about the characters themselves, I think both Mika and Hikari were well written characters with a very enjoyable dynamic. I was quite impressed that the devs chose to make Mika
a pathetic, loser bum (I mean this all affectionately)
despite being our only love interest, it felt refreshing to witness how human his character was. I think he's this game's best asset (as he should be...lol). I liked him even if he isn't necessarily my type, while he doesn't necessarily have the ability to make one swoon, he at least is a very earnest character that you'd root for. This game took me around 9 hours to complete, so I think with this length it's best to grab this on a sale if full price is not worth it. All in all, around a 7.5/10 from me.

One of the more engaging short otome games I've played, the start is a little odd but it grows a lot and I would have loved a little more. A few things I didn't like was how the love interest is characterized some (mainly in taste though, it's done well) and the confusing choices the protagonist makes in the opening parts of the game. I think it comes together though and it's worth the read.
This game has a very strong premise. In itself, not an overly mindblowing original plot, but the approach on it was pretty good. I hold appreciation for this game thanks to it's nature of focusing on context over trying to sell us just the romance aspect. When two people wake up in a post-apocalyptic world with the pure belief that they are in a VR game, there are several points I was happy to see explored in this. A few examples: - the denial of the truth. there are several endings that explore this in different ways - various mind breaks. the loss of sanity upon not being able to accept the reality; 10/10 - the gravity of taking a life even in a world that's long gone - codependency. it might not be everyone's cup of tea, but in such a setting, it was pretty on point - adaptability struggles. nobody gained super powers overnight. these people struggle - reminders of how useless we are without living in a society - more focus on survival, less focus on being ~lovey~dovey~ On the romantic front... I am actually glad it was implied for most part of the game and confirmed by the finale of the good/bittersweet/sad endings (not counting the bad endings). There are a few... too outdated mentalities in this that I did not vibe with, but I am good at ignoring stuff I don't like - but there exist certain lines that simply come off as ignorant and sexist here and there. Do with that info what you will. I loved to see these characters learn to trust each other and make use of their strengths, break out of their comfort zones and bonding in a rather beautiful and credible way. I like that nobody rushed to confess!! I love slow burns with a natural flow to it! My biggest peeve with this game however is how much dismissal the ML got. If you think we're gonna give him some help with his personal trauma outside of being his s/o? Nah. Don't hope much about it. He's incredibly self-judgmental and strict with himself. I wish there existed at least one ending where we put some senses into his head. Feels like whenever the focus was on healing him too or bringing him answers he deserved to know about, ♥♥♥♥ would just go south forever. I just felt really bad for him not receiving equal care too. Art, UI & Music are all amazing. I love them all. I really love these two character designs a lot! If any of the above resonated with your interest then I recommend this game to you. But I recommend it in general. I think this game is very well organized and knows exactly what it wants to deliver to you.
