About
Navicula Meatus is a dark and surreal puzzle-adventure game set in a peculiar world of murky alleys and fleshy growths. Explore a decaying town shrouded in mystery, interact with its charming denizens. Become a crustacean and utilise the unique puzzle-crawler grid-based meat systems.

Explore: The decaying town where the sinews of ruined buildings throb while grotesque beings beckon you to the alleys.
Unravel: The lurching cryptograms of the Navicula Meatus, become entangled in the cumbersome user interface.
Bereft of Guidance: Human language has been surgically removed from the experience. Fun and gameplay have also been excised to allow for pure streamlined immersion.
Unstable Surroundings: The meat-glue binding the world is fragile so repeated playthroughs will present new disfigurements, including:
The Flute Boy: A wretched street urchin whose amusing melodies will thrill you as you linger, soaked in the sublime ambience.

This game really shines as an example of uncompromising vision and artistry in gaming. It will confuse you, it wont hold your hand, and it will leave you with more questions than answers. Its beautiful and grotesque. However, very few games/ mediums really instill a feeling of being dropped onto an alien world like Navicula does. And you really feel a sense of accomplishment and an appreciation for the ambiguity and nebulosity when things start making (a little) sense. A 10/10 weird game

四眼古神摆在楼上而非镇里,游戏初期所有生物都要这要那的很难想到这位有关键作用,要是一时忘记了它的存在那么基本很难推进下去;

Despite the weird and grotesque visuals of the game, it's oddly comforting and "human" in the sense that you have to interact and understand the "people" in order to progress. The game doesn't hold your hand and forces you to be present and patient. With how little the game tries to explain itself, I think it's fair to have your own interpretation based on how it made you feel. I still don't know what it's about but the fact that I took the time and experienced it all feels satisfying enough. The gameplay is a "simple" in terms of the mechanics and yet I don't remember much puzzle games where I felt so accomplished and rewarded for taking the time to even understand what the game wanted me to do.
I've never felt more pleased with myself figuring out extremely basic things than I have playing Navicula Meatus. The entire atmosphere is specifically meant to feel alien and impenetrable, but uses clever context clues and subtle hints and sounds to point you in the general direction of what you're actually able to accomplish. The game oozes charm and silliness, making me childishly excited for some of most incomprehensible visual gags and musical numbers I've ever seen. Quickly, the strangeness washed over me and I was a meaty crustacean just vibing with the fellas. I went into Navicula Meatus knowing only that it is solvable, and I held tight to that hope.
just an incredible experience
I truly didn't know I needed Navicula Meatus in my life until I saw it. Now I am enriched by the Meatus.
The art style is cool and I like the idea of not being able to understand the UI. That's where the positives end though; it's pretty boring. I mean, it's not really even a puzzle game. You just go around showing your meatus to people and if they appreciate the particular meatus you have out, they will remove themselves from your path so that you can progress the game. The difficulty is pretty much solely derived from the poor graphics making it difficult to tell which meatus you need to show a particular NPC. You can get around this by just brute forcing an NPC and showing them all your items though. I think it's possible to softlock yourself too, which is not appreciated, but by the time I figured this out I was already uninterested in progressing further. The game is certainly not worth $6 but maybe souls fans who enjoy convoluted games will like this on sale.
True madness.
