Great simcade racing game and the only Nascar game that is worth anything in over a decade. When I'm not in ACC, I'm chillin in Nascar.

There are more cutsceens than racing

Would like to see Next Level get on their motion sim and add this game, would be a cherry on top. Just started but already love it.

I think some reviews here are pretty unfair and of course this game can not be compared to the Papyrus-NASCAR Racing-Series or the iRacing online service. This game isn´t perfect, but in my opinion it´s a "good (re)start" after NASCAR Heat 5 and the game can only get better in the future! The racing in general, even on road courses, has never been so much fun before because of pretty good simcade-physics. Older Steam-games like N13/14/15AE, Heat4/5 were much more limited in the physics-area. 1st. the positive: - Very good "simcade"-physics. Driving the game with a wheel, with "no aids" and with even more advanced customizable expert physics-preset-settings (in controller menu) it feels very good and "simlike" ..not as deep as a real sim, but much better as the predecessors (Heat-Series). - 2 cockpit views!, that´s great and the only way to drive a car. - Logitech DD Pro setup with pro pedals, H-pattern shifter and seq-shifter worked out of the box and the whole customization options "in all aspects of this game" are very good. - The AI is awesome and it can be tweaked with lot´s of options (if necessary for the player). I am not sure... but some special moves/ blocking by the AI gave me the feeling there is also some kind of a fair rival-system between AI and the player. - The car sounds are very good. Spotter does a great job. I like how the music changes in career when going to the garage f.e. (hall effect) - Advanced setup menu and save options for different setups (known from heat) - very good career mode. Great ui in the different categories, buy/sell/rebuilt/ repair car parts and/or level them up, manage your crew and cars, sign sponsors establish payment, hire more and better people for your crew to get better etc.. Drive in 2 different leagues at the same time and manage everything... That´s huge fun and motivating. Just the sozial media aspect in career is not fully on par with "heat", it´s more basic in this game. - good car and team paint job options with a lot of decals and customisation. 2nd the neutral: - Shadows in cockpit and some other details look great but my pers. opinion is: I don´t like the UE-graphics in general, maybe I am just too old. Evening races have way too much yellow touch and the overall colour-saturation is way overdone... I fixed this for me with a special monitor-profile for this game.... - Multiplayer works good from europe but even with the rating-system it is very basic in design. If you have friends to race with and/or the right people in a lobby, it can be a lot of fun, even with the very few features. - I don´t like RAP-music, an on/off option would be nice ;) - The AI do always have the perfect "drive in pit" and seem to have an extra turbo at restarts .... I take this as a feature due to game design and to increase the challenge for the player. - no fly-over, no national anthem, no burnouts after a race win, very basic but o.k. - look left / look right in cockpit view is without car-body again (known from heat). The "look back" cam (without body) is also unrealistic high (google-street-car-cam-view? ..lol) :) - Force Feedback is o.k. but not on par with other sims - no fov-option in cockpit view - No monitor options to view AI cars - the typical (known) auto car-control system in pit/ under yellow with decision making. - It looks laughable when AI cars spin out on their own by a scripted event. - The game of course needs old classic paint schemes, beer and alc-sponsoring due to age varification (like in the heat-series) the bad: - No DNF´s (AI and player car) - Very poor replay system! Only a few camera angels and only the player car can be viewed. The trackside cam seems to be a spotter-cam mostly with bad angles ..it´s just bad. No rwd/ fwd option, no low/med/high replay length-option... no action cam to see, what had caused a yellow flag. The replay in the NASCAR-HEAT-games system was not perfect, but had much more options and it was fun to watch. In this game, the replay-system is just totally unfinished, thats really sad. - A fully wrecked player car gets easily repaired in ca. 23 sec. or so, and get´s sorted midfield after caution..unrealistic (?!) - The cutting rules on Road courses are awefull! ... best example Watkins Glen Turn 1... In real races it´s the ideal racing line to take a bit of the run-off zone. In this game the car get´s an automatic stop for 3 seconds or so, that´s just a very bad game design decision. - comic-cut scene with bad angle in pit road when pitting. - rear view mirror has C=64 quality and looks very bad - All driven lap times by the player can not be seen, only the fastest lap is shown. There is no replay option or live-monitor to watch AI when player being in pit (practise). ___________________________________________________________ The gold edition does not only have paint-schemes btw.. You do get VIP-crew members and more money at day one in career mode. That makes career process a little easier. I rate this game 8.4/ 10, it´s "good" .
