I can't say this is a bad game. The combat is fun, matches can be enjoyable, and playing with friends is entertaining. However, for me, this no longer feels like the Naruto games I grew up with. The Naruto identity started fading after Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4. Back then, you bought the game, unlocked characters by playing, learned the mechanics naturally, and enjoyed the experience. It felt rewarding. Coming back years later—my last Naruto game was on the PS3—I was honestly shocked. Instead of jumping in and learning the game, I was greeted by a wall of DLC. Characters, mentors, jutsu, skills... everything feels like they're locked behind additional purchases. It almost feels like collecting Pokémon, except you have to keep paying to expand your collection. What's even more frustrating is that if you're a returning player, you're expected to relearn the controls from scratch. Yet many of the best mentors and training options are tied to DLC, making the learning process feel incomplete unless you spend more money. Instead of rewarding players for playing, the game constantly reminds you that more content is available—for a price. Another issue is the technical side of the game. I understand this is an older title, but it still lacks proper fullscreen optimization for modern high-resolution displays. Once you go beyond 1440p—especially at 4K or ultrawide resolutions—the game doesn't feel properly optimized, and the overall experience suffers. The online experience is also disappointing because of the number of cheaters. If you enjoy PvP arena matches, you'll eventually run into hackers who completely ruin the experience. It's frustrating to lose against players using cheats, and it's something that has remained a problem for far too long. The gameplay itself is enjoyable, and the core idea has a lot of potential, but the aggressive DLC model, poor optimization for modern resolutions, and ongoing cheating problem make it difficult to recommend without reservations. I miss the days when Naruto games focused on unlocking content through gameplay instead of opening your wallet. Rating: 6.5/10 A fun multiplayer game with enjoyable combat, but it has lost much of the classic Naruto experience by putting too much emphasis on paid DLC, while technical issues and hackers continue to hurt the overall experience.
SHINOBI STRIKER is a lot of fun, especially if you're a Naruto fan. The fast-paced combat, unique class system, and team-based matches make every game exciting. Unlocking new jutsu and customizing your ninja adds plenty of replay value. While matchmaking and balance can be improved, the gameplay is enjoyable enough to keep me coming back. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys multiplayer action games.
