Nancy Drew®: Message in a Haunted Mansion

I Love Nancy Drew games and this was no exception.

A classic! In terms of ease, it definitely requires you to use your brain (and a notepad, or maybe even your phone camera). Give it a good 3-4 hours and make sure to be diligent looking around. You won't regret it.

this was a fun game to learn how the Nancy Drew pc adventure games played. I quickly learned to either write notes from all the books for later puzzles(or just use my phone's camera). Like most point and click adventure games I found that when I got stuck, it was almost always becuase of some tiny area I didn't realize was interactive.

Still a fun little mystery, even after all these years!

This was the first Nancy Drew game I ever played, about 2 decades ago. After playing some of the newer games, the movement isn't as smooth - but that's to be expected from the third game in the series. Still a very enjoyable mystery game even after all these years!

Nancy Drew: Message in a Haunted Mansion is an environmental puzzle game where you need to solve the mystery of a haunted house where mysterious accidents occur. Overall, the game isn't very difficult, though you may need to write a few clues down; but I didn't spend too much time wandering around trying to figure out what to do. There's an in-game help system that'll point you in right direction, should you get stuck. Given this game was released 25 years ago, there is definitely some jankiness involved as it pertains to moving around and interacting with the environment. The cursor changes over hotspots, but there's no distinction between the movement and interaction icons, so that takes a little getting used to. Many of the in-game documents are muddy and difficult to read; that doesn't really affect the puzzle-solving, but does make some of the in-game lore a little harder to parse through. Overall, this is a decent game, though $9.99 is quite a high price for a 25 year old game. I'd definitely wait for a sale or a bundle before purchasing; there isn't a ton of game here.
