Not *only* is this game fun, the developer is both kind and attentive to players. I mentioned I had vision issues and trouble seeing the mouse on screens with snowy backgrounds. He promised an update the coming weekend, when he had time... but I awoke to the update not 24 hours later. We need more developers like these making games that are just plain fun and uncomplicated - this dev now has a fan for life! I'll buy anything he ever creates on release.
This game is definitely under-priced for the amount of polish - wasn't expecting that! A fun game loop, Cool upgrade system, Funny dialogue, Great area soundtracks, Tooltips that explained things pretty well, And a whole lot more good stuff. The only two things I though could be improved are: 1) The animation for fusing items could be sped up a bit (wait feels long if multiple items queued for fusion), and; 2) My laptop seemed to be using more resources than usual for a game of this size so a bit of optimisation might be needed. Definitely recommend checking this game out if you are a fan of the clicker / roguelike / idler genres.
Beat the overall run in 2 hours, but wanting to collect everything and them providing easier ways to do it is very encouraging to play it after the initial 100 stages. I really liked the auto click and x2 speed thank you... Cute little game worth the price. EDIT: Completed game 100% in 7 hours.
My life as an archeologist is a nice mixture of semi idle clicker and roguelite. In fact, the clicking part can be avoided altogether by holding down your mouse - convenient! It does become even more of an idle game once you've unlocked the option to auto-click, which also speeds up the game, and makes the whole experience less of a slog. I'm glad I found this option before writing a review since I really started to lose my patience.
Here we go again, Buddy
So, as with (m)any roguelites, you'll start from scratch, kill a bunch of monsters, die in the process and earn a currency that unlocks permanent boons. I found myself getting less and less motivated to get through the levels again because it feels very samey at some point. There are 100 levels, on paper, but there are in fact only 10 stages with different biomes and enemies. This is totally fine, especially for the low asking price. Still, adding the sometimes not-so engaging music into this mix didn't help to keep me motivated. Until I unlocked said option I mentioned in the introduction. Suddenly, the game flows. I mean, twice as fast obviously, but it also autoclicks for you. That means you can focus even more on the rest of your run, which is all about getting good equip, finding special artefacts, assign stats and skill points. Depending on the skill tree you've chosen, there are additional special actions to perform, which, with the help of certain artefacts, skills and also unlocks can be set to auto-cast, which is a very handy tool. It's stuff like heal, more autoclicks etc. Basically something you would also expect in a regular idle clicker.
It's fun
The game is pretty lighthearted; I like the sense of humour and self-awareness. There is a big collection of different artefacts and every now and then, instead of finding equipment, you get to choose from different tarot cards. These often offer some nice improvements and spice up the randomness of every run. The artstyle is very cute and fits the overall tone as well. The music was either hit or miss for me but that comes down to personal preference of hearing chiptunes in a loop. Recommending this one is pretty easy and I'm sure you won't be disappointed with what you get for your money spent. However, compared to other roguelites, I tend to do only one run per evening because it often feels a bit to same-same, even if I change the build I go for. This has less to do with the loadout and more with the visual feedback, or rather the lack thereof. So, if you enjoy a little grind at the evening whilst eating, writing and watching something on the side is totally possible, go for it. Cute game! I immediately took out my wallet after watching DF play this on YT. For the reasonably low price of CDN$ 5.69, I'm pleased to say that this game offers a solid 5-15 hours of fun. I think by that 15th hour you'll be able to experience literally everything this game has to offer. It's not a very deep game but it's not trying to be (nor does it need to be). It's just a casual and relaxing experience. It's a Roguelite clicker (not an idle clicker) that does a good job of giving the player a straightforward sense of progression. If you check out the discussion boards, the developer seems to be a very chill person too. I encountered a very minor bug but I feel like I'll be heard if I post about it after finishing the game. I'm definitely happy to support such a dev after seeing them interact with the community. Anyway, that's about it for this game. It's a clicker. If you like clickers then you'll no doubt like this game.
I like the idea behind the game and the research feature is pretty fun. Its basically just kill x number of the same enemy and u unlock a card which gives u stats. Those cards have to be bought from gold u farmed while playing. The gameplay: U kill enemies get skill points and gear which u spend / equip. U can either go for idle , idle or clicker game style. I would like to see more of thje game but for now after 6 hours i will have to wait. I literally unlocked everything and beat the game. Couple bucks for 6 hours of fun was ok for me!
小品游戏,内容不算多,毕竟折后才不到十块钱嘛。 局外成长还挺有趣的,局内比起运气更看加点一些。难度不高,各种流派都能通关,我觉得还可以。
This is a surprisingly mechanically rich and polished game for the price. It does an excellent job at blending clicker and roguelite mechanics. The story doesn't take itself seriously at all, but is still pretty engaging and funny at times. I see a lot of potential for additional content, but to me it's completely worth the price as it is.
So far it's great. It's not a game you can put hundreds of hours into without any repetition, but for this price, it shouldn't need to.
I don't think the game is bad, but I also don't think it is very good. If you are looking for a game to just kinda waste time on, then this is a pretty decent one. There just wasn't anything about the game that I can remember as "oh yeah, that part was fun". A neutral review would be pretty nice, but since I wouldn't actually recommend the game to someone else this has to be a negative rating.
