Short review: The jank is absolutely real but it is a great mechanic simulator that offers enormous satisfaction once you figure it out. Mods are a must and are plentiful and easy to install. Try the game, you will know within an hour if it's for you. If you played "My Summer Car", as others have mentioned, the jank will be familiar to you. It is certainly not a polished gem of a game, ive had several CTD in my play time but I survived it. Lots of parts in the game have no default texture. They're just white like they're straight out of blender. No way to color them except with mods..so if that bugs you, be warned. I love that you can repair every aspect of the vehicle, cutting pieces out of the frame and welding them back in is pretty neat. There's tons of parts. The engines are simplified when it comes to part count, but I won't complain. Mods are a must. Especially the "Master Scanner" mod on Nexus. It tells you the "health" of all installed parts which is pretty much necessary because unless the part health is zero, there is no visual indicator if it is broken or not. Sometimes you'll get a mission for "suspension problems" and you have no idea which part is actually broken.
