For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 26 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 7 places towards #1, and the 2,402 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.

About
Experience the complexities and challenges of modern American leadership in this faithful digital adaptation of GMT Games’ acclaimed board game Mr. President: The American Presidency 2000-2020. Step into the Oval Office during two decades that transformed America and the world.
__BEFORE YOU BUY THIS GAME, PLEASE READ THE PINNED POST IN OUR FORUMS!__

Select your Cabinet and guide your administration through pivotal moments in recent history - as well as those that didn’t happen, but could have. What if the global financial crisis had happened earlier - or been even worse? What if violence in Central or South America escalated to create a cartel-dominated rogue state? What if outsourcing and automation, or an oil price spike, drove a domestic political crisis? Make the crucial decisions that will define - or tarnish - your presidential legacy.
Play any of the five historical scenarios as DLCs - one for each of the presidential terms from 2000 to 2020 - and see if you can do better than your historical counterpart. Can you pass Social Security reform in the early 2000s? Protect the world from a nuclear Iran or North Korea? Hammer out lasting immigration reforms? Or play the sandbox scenario, which represents the general trends of these two decades. In addition to dealing with diplomatic and domestic crises, you’ll nominate Supreme Court justices and shepherd their confirmation hearings; manage scandals; run your re-election campaign; work with Congress to pass your legislative agenda; and build a capable and effective Cabinet.
The digital version maintains everything that made the original board game compelling:
Over 150 different Crisis events, both historical and counterfactual
Specific action lists and agendas for America’s key allies and adversaries - no recycled gameplay that makes Israel and Canada seem the same except for the flag
Choose from a large menu of action choices at every turn - and agonize how to spend your limited action budget
Prioritize America’s strategic capabilities, from cyber warfare to space to intelligence gathering, always with an eye to America’s peer rivals Russia and China
But now you can focus purely on strategy, while the game handles all the administrative tasks that slowed down tabletop play.
Every table and action list you need is a mouse click away
Seamless board view that lets you slide effortlessly between the big picture and the crisis of the moment
Scenario setup in seconds
Whether you're a fan of the original board game or new to presidential politics, this digital adaptation offers the perfect blend of accessibility and depth. Make the hard choices. Shape history. Experience the presidency.

This is a wonderful implementation of the board game that allows you to experience plenty of interest emergent narratives and strategic challenges. It is hard, no doubt. But difficulty is not a bad thing, and the experience of failing is often enjoyable as you feel the world slip from your grasp and you panic to try and hold it together. And this being a digital format, it means that any expansions that arrive will be much easier to receive than the physical version. Come on, didn't every kid at some point want to be the President? Now's your chance!
It's great for what it is, a digital version of a very involved board game. I do really like the board game, though you should probably view it more as a sort of president simulator game, than a technical low-luck puzzly board game. Things will go wrong, you will have times where you feel like everything's going your way and times where it feels like you can't possibly handle everything that's thrown at you, but that's part of the beauty, having to choose priorities and which areas are allowed to fail. Every game will also feel unique due to all the events that can happen. A digital version is very appealing, since the board game takes a long time, partly due to all the administrative tasks you need to perform. And it also demands a big table. I always felt like the board game would work way better like a video game. And they do still show you every step and its effects, so it isn't like things are happening in the background that you are unable to follow. It's not going to help you learn the game though, and you should either just read the rulebook(s) that they link to, or play through a year to get a feeling for it. The tooltips could maybe be a bit more clear about the purpose of things (what can UN goodwill chips be used for, what is the effect of all the various tracks, etc.), but I don't fault the game for not teaching this massive game, which would be a nigh impossible task. Just expect to struggle in the beginning. What I do fault it for, are bugs. I've only just started a game, and ran into a bug where every time I try to choose a bill to propose, it crashes to desktop. It doesn't matter if I change the choices leading up to it. So my save is now basically lost. I will wait a while longer for more stability patches (if they come, since it already left early access). Edit: I've changed my review to a positive one. The bug only seems to affect Mac and affects a lot of people, but the developer is aware of it and I expect a fix soon. I've been playing on PC and I'm having a great time. I also don't want to hamper this game's chances during the critical launch window. So, hold off until the next patch if you're on MacOS, otherwise I can recommend.

A faithful adaption of the GMT Game, Mr President, the computer version signifcantly cuts down on playtime through automation. This is the biggest plus of this game - it is so much faster because there is so much less half-a-dozen rule book / manual flicking and counter placing. The second biggest plus is space - this only takes up a computer sized bit of room on a table, rather than the mammoth table needed for the board game version. Overall, very well done! A much purchase if you have the board game version or are a fan of solo games.
Developer attentive to getting this to a carbon copy of the board game (which is a good thing).
This is a fantastic digital implementation of the board game. It eliminates all the fiddliness required to play the board game (lots of physical dice rolls, placing, moving and flipping counters all over the the map, tracking all the modifiers for dice rolls etc) and instead, just lets you focus on your strategy and what you are trying to do to win the game. The game is really rich and deep with it's decision space since you need to figure out how to best use your limited resources to prevent things from spiraling of control while at the same time furthering your own objectives.
In the end, it's just flipping through charts and doing what the charts tell you, but it makes your choices feel meaningful. The pressure of having so many cats to spin and needing to keep all the cats juggling is just prime brain-bending fun.
A great port of a board game with a lot of physical pieces to keep track of. This version makes playing the game so much easier.
Fantastic game, really quite interesting. The rules and how to play what to do and when are basically impossible to figure out through the walk through or whatever they call it. Do yourself a favor and keep chatgpt or something open and just ask it questions like "how do i ♥♥♥♥♥♥ the middle east here is a picture of it." Or "my cabinet sucks how do i improve it." I havent encountered any instabilities or bugs except for a hover that wouldn't go away without saving and reloading the game. **disclaimer** i don't know the rules well enough to understand if i hit a bug unless it was super obvious.
This is a must get game if you like political sims. This is in-depth and really fun to play. It takes some getting used to, but you will be very pleased. A++++
Very cool USA president simulator
