Gameplay & Features
Moorhuhn Remake brings back the nostalgic charm of the classic Moorhuhn games, offering exactly what longtime fans expect. Having played the original a lot as a kid, this version delivers a familiar experience but feels more like a remaster/port than a true remake, making the title somewhat misleading. The game offers modern touches like 21:9 aspect ratio support, multiple language options, and a world leaderboard to compete with other players. However, beyond these updates, there isn't much new content. While it’s fun to relive the classic chicken-shooting chaos, the gameplay only holds attention for about an hour before becoming repetitive. Still, given its affordable price, it’s a worthwhile pick-up for those craving a bit of childhood nostalgia.
Highlights
Classic Moorhuhn gameplay with modern touches. 21:9 aspect ratio, multilingual support, and a global leaderboard. Great nostalgia trip for longtime fans.
Cons
More of a remaster than a true remake. Limited gameplay depth, gets boring quickly. Freezing issues on dual-monitor setups.
Overall Experience
Moorhuhn Remake is a simple, nostalgic shooter that doesn’t overstay its welcome. It’s perfect for a quick blast from the past but lacks the depth and innovation of a full remake. For the price, it’s a fair buy for those who want a short trip down memory lane. Such a classic and nostalgic game. I used to play it with my mom regularly as a boy and we would compete to see who would get the higher score... I wish the winter version was on Steam too. There isn't much replayability and you won't get a lot of playtime out of this, but it's a nice game to spend a few minutes a day on.

klasika z dětství
Has the mechanical depth of the original Duck Hunt and feels like a flash game because it is quite literally a port of a remake of a flash game (the help menu still makes reference to touch screen and phone controls), but it does have a certain charm, admittedly helped along by the fact that I'm pathologically obsessed with anything poultry related. You've gotta understand, this originates from the Elf Bowling era when being able to play even the most barebones game imaginable in your browser felt like you were opening up an incredible world of discovery and games like this were really meant to be something you play for 5 minutes and send to your friend with a "hey, check this out type of message". It's pretty simple even by the standards of later flash games but the visuals are cute and there is an addictive feeling once the game is over of "no, I can do better than that, let's go again". There's not much here but that's almost the point, it's something you can use to kill a minute or two with without committing too deeply and there's a place for little amusements like this.
