one of the most visually stunning I played. The physics and movements are incredible. I got an Avtaar type feel in the surreal environment. The puzzles are well thought out & intelligent. The art work & level design is also stunning. I highly recommend you to buy this game & experience it yourself.
As part of my Steam Sale Haul, I picked up Moo Lander. I do not remember where I first saw the game's name but it had lived on my wish list for the past several months waiting for a sale. My Steam Deck has become my indie/MV gaming device and I like to keep it fed. One sentence summary: You are a flying saucer crash-landed on a planet with aggressive cows that you must abduct as your technology runs on milk. Holy Hell. This game is currently sitting at 14 reviews on Steam which is an atrocity. I was concerned at first because the gimmick of the game is that you are a flying saucer. How do you do platforming if you are flying? They manage to make it challenging and fun including the final ability which I believe is truly unique and used in a innovative way in puzzling. Combat is challenging. Boss fights tend to be a bit repetitive but usually have enough variation to be challenging. The game is also fully voice acted with a heavy emphasis on story. There is a lot of polish on display. Art style reminds me a bit of Ori. Combat abilities are fun with weapons to fit your play style. As far as being a Metroidvania. There is a small amount of backtracking in each biome, but there is not a sprawling open map where you return to previous areas. The story necessitates this but this game is definitely leaning on the linear side of the scale. As a big MV fan, I was perfectly satisfied with progression. I'm in the final area and over 8 hours in. Game is currently on sale, a full recommend from me.
Having played Moo Lander through many of its development stages, you can see how much work and care has gone into it. All of the people at the devs have been so passionate and have been a joy to work alongside. Now playing my first official playthrough and it is still surprising me just how beautiful the game is. The game is challenging but having the Story Mode option is perfect, just enough of a challenge but without meaning you are stuck in one place for several hours! Highly recommend Moo Lander and I think possibly one of my top games for 2022!
Great game with gorgeous graphics and nice feeling mechanics. I really like how the developers created the storyline with interesting task and plot.
At first glance, I was captivated by the brilliant and lush artwork that reminded me of my favorites like Ori and Rayman. But as I played into the game, I realized that this was not just about good graphics, but so much more. The combat is easy to master, with responsive controls and a fascinating array of enemies. It was delightful to note that each weapon has unique strengths against different opponents - my favourite is the Milk Sword 😃 But not everything was perfect. I felt the game missed the mark with the unlimited health generation in arenas, particularly at higher difficulty levels. I hope this is something the developers address in upcoming updates. But what truly stands out about Moo Lander is the puzzle element. The game took me by surprise with its well-thought-out puzzles that kept me engaged and intrigued throughout my gameplay. And if that's not enough, the humor rounding off the corners of the main plot, the memorable dialogues, and a beautifully balanced world altogether bring this game to life. It's clear this game was a labor of love, and I'm ecstatic to have been part of this journey. Looking forward to more adventures to come.
+ Art, story, combat system - Linear gameplay, no exploration, all cow bosses have the same attack patterns and are defeated the same way (the only difference are their look and special attack), achievements (finishing the game on hardest difficulty doesn't unlock achievements for lower difficulties, missable achievements, multiplayer)
A great indie game! I was a bit sceptical at first, but I saw that there is local multiplayer so I wanted to try it with my children and we had a blast! Their favorite mode is the football and they always play with the cows. Definetly worth it if you have joysticks and someone to play with. I haven't played a lot of the singleplayer yet but it looks promising
game is fun, story is cool. if we could get a skip for the cutscenes after beating one playthrough maybe we can get some speed running categories on speedrun.com maybe an any%, all cows, no upgrades (besides the basics), legendary run ect but all in all hell of a game certainly worth the money if you like to hunt achievements and like mapping out games for speedrunning!
un metroidvania muy colorido,,agradable con una historia sobre ovnis y vacas divertida... PD--espero la 2 parte
跑圖流程和打王操作都千篇一律,幾乎沒有任何變化
