The game is fun at first but due to extremely clunky controls and unpolished design, it is progressively more and more frustrating to the point where I just gave up halfway through. What is good about the game is the art style and the music. The story is kind of meh and the rest is just bad. The controls feel like it was designed by someone who never held a controller in their life. It is truly atrocious. It tries to be a twin-stick shooter but somehow fails miserably and the controls just feel extremely bad. I got the laser as fast as I could so I would not have to spam R2 for each and every shot because hold-to-shoot is apparently too cool for the devs. It legit made my fingers hurt. Once you get the dash ability, you immediately realize how bad the camera is. It constantly fails to follow at reasonable pace, making me constantly dash into thorns cos I can't see where I'm going. It truly shines in chase scenes where you just smash into things. The constant zoom-in in narrow places is also annoying as hell. Once you get the splitter thingy, you also realize another design flaw. When aiming it, it constantly snaps to the ship itself which renders it completely unusable. So you have to keep constantly repositioning it until you get a lucky angle that somehow works. Why? What's the point of this useless snap "feature"? Why do I have to fight the game in order to play it? Can it be disabled? Of course not... Changing camouflage of the ship to get different bonuses is nice until the game forces you to constantly switch in order to progress. It becomes just another annoyance at that point. The cow fights are just as frustrating and extremely boring. It basically consists of just spamming L2 and moving left to right until your fingers fall off. But where the game really took a dump on me was when you encounter the jumping hogs or whatever. The game locks your controls and zooms into a "cutscene" where you see the hogs spawn and start zooming around with lightning speed while the camera sloooooowly oh so slowly, taking it sweet sweet time, zooms back to your ship while all your controls are still locked. Once you finally regain control of your ship, you have about 0.000001 seconds before you're obliterated. So no, I would definitely not recommend this game to anyone. When you need to fight the game in order to play it, that's when you know to stay away.
A very fun indie game, enjoyable 2D graphics, puzzles are nice, and it has a very funny campaign. Also has co-op and PVP modes, which is awesome. Definitely recommend for some fun times with friends
Works great on the Steam Deck. I had two times when I needed to restart from last check point, but other than that prety fun game to play.
Playing this game made me feel like I didn't drink enough milk. First thing first I never review, the only review i have ever left so far is for Destiny 2 which i have sank more than 3k hours in combined between Blizzard and Steam. What made me want to buy this and write a review was that i learned that the game was developed by an indie studio from my home country. So below are the first hand experiences I got with the game after playing it a few hours from a FPS/looter/MMO shooter gamer perspective. Graphic wise I found it original, level designs are pretty and cows are unique. Story wise premise is very much silly and memey, the game leans in to that a lot. Gallons of milk puns and am talking GALLONS, from dad joke levels to some I found chuckle worthy. Voice acting was surprisingly good, captain sounds like that campy 90s cartoon blissfully confident macho dude in the lines of GI Joe. For what I got to play so far I would say the price is right. Movement is fluid, I found my self scraping some corners of the map but that's because this is not a type of game I would usually play. Mechanics on some environmental objects although they are quite straight forward I found that at some moments luck may play a part. Upgrades and everything power related comes from milk, don't make me explain it I already said it was memey, but it may allow for some level of build crafting, how deep it can get not really sure but there is a possibility for that. Fights and bosses, although at first glance may look like a rendition of platformers this is not one, mainly cos you fly not jump and climb, but for the rest is pretty much in that category, timing based bullet hellish boss and minion fights, puzzles for progression, definitely fun but can become quite sweaty. My overall judgment, it is fun to play, you have some laughs along the way (none will get you rolling on the ground holding your belly, but will get a chuckle), other puns will have you rolling your eyes, maybe sweat here and there, That mostly encapsulates what I got to see from the game so far, story wise I dont think is a deep and thought provoking experience I give it a solid 7 milk cartons out of 10 cows.
I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical when I saw 'Moo Lander' on my Steam recommendations. An indie game involving UFOs and cows seemed almost too outlandish. Boy, was I in for a delightful surprise! I found myself absolutely engrossed in this quirky universe. The gameplay is refreshingly original; flying a saucer, navigating environments, solving puzzles - it had all the elements to keep me hooked. Now, I know combat isn't everything in a game, but the boss fights in Moo Lander are incredibly memorable. They were challenging but in the right way, appearing repetitive at first but soon revealing intricate variations that kept me on edge. Each battle made me feel like I was genuinely starting to understand and master the gameplay mechanics. And then, there's the world itself - a vividly imagined landscape that's nothing short of art. I am not one to talk about aesthetics usually, but Moo Lander deserves all the praise for its immersive, detailed environment that could rival AAA games. What hit home for me was its subtle but powerful emphasis on exploration. I found myself venturing back to previous areas just because the game's universe felt so alive, so inviting. Definitely recommend!
Moo Lander is an absolute gem of a game that deserves all the praise it can get! From the moment I launched it, I was instantly captivated by its charming visuals, delightful gameplay, and an incredibly positive atmosphere. First and foremost, the graphics in Moo Lander are breathtaking. The developers have created a stunningly vibrant and detailed universe, filled with colorful biomes, quirky alien creatures, and beautifully rendered celestial landscapes. Every moment spent in this game feels like stepping into a painting come to life. But it's not just about the visuals; the gameplay is equally fantastic. The controls are intuitive and responsive, allowing you to effortlessly navigate your powerful spacecraft through the vastness of Mars. The blend of exploration, combat, and puzzle-solving mechanics keeps the gameplay fresh and engaging. There's never a dull moment in Moo Lander. One of the standout aspects of Moo Lander is its upbeat and positive atmosphere. The game is brimming with charm and humor, making every interaction with the quirky characters an absolute joy. The uplifting soundtrack perfectly complements the overall experience, creating an immersive and delightful world that you won't want to leave. Furthermore, the game's progression system is well-designed and rewarding. As you explore different locations and complete missions, you'll unlock new upgrades, abilities, and customization options for your spacecraft. This sense of growth and discovery adds a layer of excitement and motivation to the already addictive gameplay loop. In conclusion, Moo Lander is an absolute delight from start to finish. Whether you're a fan of exploration games or simply looking for a heartwarming and uplifting adventure, Moo Lander will undoubtedly leave you with a smile on your face. Highly recommended!
ja das spiel ist schön aber auch kurz aber allen in allen ist es Seher interessant das spiel und es wird schwer ob Woll leichte Einstellung leicht ist.
Stepping into Moo Lander, I felt like an adventurous kid, hopping into a flying saucer and embarking on an epic mission to save my planet. The characters are amazing - there’s The Lander, a charismatic ship captain, and his AI partner Hamilton, who adds an extra dose of charm with their entertaining banter. I only wished they were as captivating as the world around me. The core gameplay, controlling a flying saucer equipped with a variety of weapons, was a perfect balance of fun and challenge. Battles were demanding and fun. However, the boss fights with the alien cows were somewhat tricky to navigate initially, though once I got the hang of it, it got more enjoyable. While I appreciated the Metroidvania elements in the game, I wished there were more incentives to explore the off-beat paths. A treasure hunt or secret upgrades hidden in the vast and beautiful landscape would have added an extra layer of excitement. With its mix of beautiful art, unique gameplay, and the addition of co-op and multiplayer modes, Moo Lander holds a special place in my gaming library. There’s something about experiencing such a refined indie game that has given me new respect for the genre. Moo Lander offers more than a space adventure; it’s a colorful journey like none other. MOST IMPORTANTLY - The multiplayer rocks - I played it with my children and they had such an amazing fun. They still talk about wanting to try out more cows and have silly, hilarious battles with their father.
one of the most visually stunning I played. The physics and movements are incredible. I got an Avtaar type feel in the surreal environment. The puzzles are well thought out & intelligent. The art work & level design is also stunning. I highly recommend you to buy this game & experience it yourself.
