I love this game! It's got creature collecting, roguelike deckbuilding, and tactical positioning all wrapped up in a charming package with villains that are actually pretty scary given the setting. If anything, I just want more of it! Great job devs! Keep it up!

I enjoyed Montabis cheerful colors and Deck Building with a hint of pokemon like monster capturing. I can see myself getting lost for hours in the gameplay for this or trying to kill time at work on the ol' Steam Deck playing this.

An addictive tactical roguelike! Could easilly pass by hours just making the monkey move as much as monkey-ly possible in one turn
Overall, the game is really fun and quite strategic. It makes you think carefully about your moves and calculate the damage before taking action. At first, I was a bit confused about how the range system works, since some cards have limited range and can’t attack enemies from too far away. Maybe because I’m still in the early stages, the pacing feels a little slow, but it also makes me curious to keep progressing, evolve, and unlock more cards. The descriptions for the cards, pendants, and items also feel quite complex, so it takes some time to understand how everything works at the beginning. I think after playing more often, it’ll become easier to remember everything and plan strategies more smoothly. Visually, the game has a unique and cute art style, and the smooth animations make it even more enjoyable and keep me curious to see what comes next.
Easy to learn, but definitely hard to master. Every run feels like you're learning something new. The gameplay has loads of depth, and there's always a tactical decision waiting around the corner. Sometimes you've just got to sacrifice one of your Montabi if it gives you the best chance of winning. It can be painful, but that's part of the fun. The deck-building is brilliant, with plenty of interesting cards to mess around with. As you unlock more evolutions and cards, the game keeps throwing fresh challenges at you, encouraging you to experiment with different builds and discover some really satisfying synergies. It's one of those roguelike deckbuilders where the more you play, the more you realise just how much room there is for creative strategies. Every run feels different, and pulling off a plan you've put together yourself is incredibly rewarding. If you're into turn-based roguelike card games that actually make you think, this one's well worth a go.
A creature collector with tons of charm and style. I was drawn in by the art style, but the mechanics and depth of the combat made it hard to put down. I'm a bit weary these days of creature collectors, roguelikes, and deckbuilders because there's so many pitfalls in each of those genres, but Montabi manages to stand on its own and blend it all together marvelously.
Don't sleep on this! Currently on my first run, and the game is really refreshing. It feels like StarVaders + Monster Train. Each monster (Montabi) has its own deck, can obtain new cards, and evolves after leveling up at the end of a battle. It's a unique idea! Played it on the Steam Deck, and controller support is quite good. Text is a small though but the devs are working on the UI, so I hope it gets Verified soon to bring in more players. Small suggestion: in some events where choices offer a card or charm, having a preview button to check the card would make it much easier to decide. Looking forward to new updates!
Love the monster design and it's a good game to kill time.
One of the best monster catching games design wise, all Montabi are from cute to awesome. The game is also a great strategy game, with tons of builds possible, harder than you would think, hope there is more games like this in the future.
