I loved every second of this game, it really feels like one of those fantastic videogames you played as a child, even if you just played it as an adult. Truly fun!
It is a very okay game, but I genuinely think that you are not probably missing anything if you jump straight to mhs 2 or 3. The story and mechanics aint anything to write home about so maybe come back to this game if you just cant get enough of the MHS world after beating 2-3
hehe kindship stone go brrrrrrrr
The one negative thing I have to say about Monster Hunter Stories is that I'm not sure Monster Hunter in general has a good sense of what is a reasonable amount of grind to put into your core gameloop. However, that aside, Stories 1 is a lovely game, a clever Monster Hunter adaptation, and a solid creature collector to boot. It's really hard to oversell just how good it looks. Everything is made with a kind of PS2 RPG visual maximalism, where there's details on details on details all crammed into every town, and where the sky and landscape are an abyss of soothing green and blue. Every color pops. Every outfit is fun. The 3DS was a hell of a system. In terms of story, there's more here than you might expect in other monster collectors, but I wouldn't call it lifechanging. Live in harmony with nature. Don't do pollution. You are allowed to kill five hundred seagulls if that will let you make a blade out of seagulls. In terms of mechanics, Stories 1 has a real funk to it. You have a life system which allows you to make mistakes (and lets you encounter and get flattened by stuff over your level without the frustration of being reset back to your last save,) and you control your trainer in battle. The monster fights on autopilot, but you can raise them to have certain tendencies and you can temporarily fuse with them to take direct control over their attacks. Combat is showy and you can pave over most fights by being sufficiently levelled, but if you want to engage with the technical elements there's a *lot*. There's even a genetics system where you can mulch monsters to pass specific passives on to other monsters, and a rarity system where some hatches of some monsters will have better growths or different capabilities. If you want a monster collector to spend a lot of time in and where everything looks beautiful, and/or you've got that montism, this is a very very safe investment. Gorgeous game, well made, and absolutely worth grabbing. Edit: Now that I'm midway through, I actually like the plot a fair bit. It's got a little bit more teeth than average for the genre, even if it's still very E For Everyone.
Imagine being able to command these deadly all powerful monsters that used to cart you like crazy in the mainline games. Nothing brings me more joy. 10/10 would gladly play again.
Bem diferente do Wolrd e do Rise, mas tem uma arte bonitinha e é divertido, então vale a pena, mas ja sabendo que é bem diferente dos principais.
Super fun game, love the monster designs and collection. I just wish getting stronger was a little faster for the player character. Often times your monster ally is a lot stronger than you, so you end up depending on it for victory over actually contributing in the fight.
Si te gusta la saga y quieres un juego más tranquilo, te encantará este juego
