It started in your foot. Now it’s in your head. All that remains is the command: GO UP. Meet strange neighbors. Make bad trades. Every ascent teaches you what you should have done differently.

About
The only thought left is: GO UP.
The building has thirty floors. Your body has problems - hunger, thirst, exhaustion. The infection doesn’t care. It only wants altitude.
Your body is in shambles... but the foot keeps climbing.
The building is not haunted. The people in it are not monsters - and they want things. Junk. Food. Favors. Someone to do something mildly humiliating to their neighbor.
A few of them know things they shouldn't. And maybe what they know has something in common.
You're the only one collecting the pieces.
The building is the same every time you climb it. The neighbors are the same. The trades are the same. The vending machine on the ground floor has the same stock.
What changes is what you know.
Every run, you learn something. A shortcut. A better trade. An item you thought was useless until it saved your life. Slowly, the building starts to make sense.
You’ll know what to do next time.
But your foot isn’t waiting.
MOLDRISE features a full-length original soundtrack, composed by Mike Klubnika, creator of Buckshot Roulette, s.p.l.i.t., and Machine Party.
First-person survival horror. Retro aesthetics. A thirty-floor apartment building with no empty floors and no happy endings.

UP UP UP
Such a fun, unique ride! It's very short but it flows smoothly, the building, its tenants and the way the overall situation is presented are great and leaves you wanting more; there are enough hidden gems to grant at least a couple playthrough. Too bad the replayability ends with reaching 100% achievements, which is relatively easy...I'd love to see more stuff coming out of the world that this game builds!
this game is like a fine french cheese except on your feet and its evil
Overall I really like the game. It's rather short but does what it set out to do very well in that time. The sound design is probably overall the highlight of the game for me. From the wet squelchy walking sounds to the ambient track, it really makes you feel uncomfortable. I also really enjoyed the knowledge based progression system, that way dying never felt too punishing. I willingly embraced certain events that I knew would likely end up killing me because I had learned something new in this run that I knew would help me get back to my previous progress really quickly. It's not all perfect however. I would say while the writing and worldbuilding overall are good they probably are the weakest part of the game for me. On the surface the world building holds up and I think that is totally fine for a short 12€ game like this but it starts falling apart once you start to think about the game more and how each of the characters act. So on the one hand the games writing is good enough for me to actually want to think about it, but at the same time it's too inconsistent for it to hold up to closer scrutiny. The prevalence of the danger feels very inconsistent to me. Some characters seem oblivious or indifferent to the existential threat whereas others seem to know exactly what is going on. Certainly enough for a whole cult to form around it. At the same time seemingly the government doesn't seem to take the threat seriously at all by not imposing proper quarantines but seriously enough to order rooftop access doors to be locked. I know the developer put thought into the world however, as is evident by the small details that can be found hidden everywhere such as KRNLs graffiti tag by the cameras or the nut recall posters. There's some other things in the game that are meant to be small jokes or eastereggs in the game such as the pizza hawaii part or the Backrooms vision. Those, in my opinion, go against the tone of the game and took me out of the game a bit. However they were short enough sections that they didn't negatively impact my overall experience. Lastly, and I very deeply apologize to the developer if that is not the case and characters were written like that on purpose: Some of the dialogue comes across as written or heavily assisted by AI. As a non native english speaker that does experiment with generative AI in writing a lot some phrases just stand out to me like a sore thumb. It's just how some sentences appear deep on the surface but turn out to be the pretentious-deep nonsense that AI likes to write. For example: "His left hand has a tremor. His right hand is pretending not to notice." I don't think the use of generative AI, especially as a non native english speaker, worsens the game significantly. The overall writing is solid enough that those anomalies can be looked past. I would just like to encourage the developer to depend less on these tools. Its very clear to me that the developer has a creative mind and is capable at writing and I would love to see that personality shine through more in their writing. Again: If my brain false-flagged those sentences as AI assisted then I very genuinely and very deeply apologize. Overall a fantastic game that was well worth the money. I am looking forward to the developers future works.
Amazing little Horror Game with a very neat story. I love everything Fungus related in Horror. The Pricepoint is the only complaint. 12€ is a tad much but when its on sale for like 6 or 7 Bucks it will be a no brainer to pick this game up.
