About

Everything you hear and see is 100% real-time and editable in-game. It is designed with beginners in mind with tutorials and automatic vibe nodes to help make it so you don't need to know anything about music to have fun. For those who want to push it a bit further, you can edit each note, scale, and FX to get a node to sound exactly how you'd like.
DISCLAIMER: The music you create in Mix Universe CAN be used for commercial purposes (Spotify, youtube, etc etc) so long as you are using the clearly marked royalty free instruments in-game (Please see terms of use / eula for more information). Although the game is not intended to be used as a digital audio workstation, some Mixonauts have made incredible things so far!
If you run into any issues, please join the discord and lemme know! I am a solo-dev doing the best I can so every bit helps in terms of feedback!
Create many different nodes and connect them together to play sounds and visuals.
Sounds can be chosen from a variety of built in libraries (Piano, Drums, Space Strings, Synths, and More)
Sounds can be altered by adding elements to them (Volume, Duration, Attack, Pitch, LFO, Filtering, Reverb, Delay, High Pass, Low Pass, Bit Crush, and More)
Nodes can be moved, rotated, scaled, and snapped to a grid.
Fully functional undo and redo system.
Allow sharing mixes on the universe using mod.io.
Aimed to be friendly to those who are new to music and music creation.
Node creation is super easy! You can click and drag to paint them down and they will automatically connect to their closest nodes.
The entire node editing system is designed to try and make music creation as easy as it can be.
Every note can be edited after being randomly generated.
Drum patterns can be edited quickly and allows for a ton of variety.
All editing is built with multiple selections in mind.
There are other node types as well that are purely visual to help you make entire musical worlds!

After a mix is made you can save that and upload it to the universe directly in-game to share with the community. Then others can open up what you make, play it and potentially use it for inspiration to start something they create!

I don't have much time in this game yet, but I am sure that is going to change. This game is amazing. I highly recommend.
honestly the most pretty and relaxing game I've ever played. tutorial is quite long but after that, the controls are so intuitive that its easy to learn the "advanced" stuff without a tutorial. every bit of the sounds that were added at the moment fit the vibe to the game's setting and would love more sounds to play with. this is a passion project that should be followed to 1.0 release :> I'm beyond excited to see what else is added!
One of the best music games i have ever played, so many options and possibilities to create something unique and new
This is actually amazing, ive spent hours just transferring over real music into this game just so I can remix it in a fun way
The most fun you can have. Mechanics quite simple, easy to remember even the supposed hard parts. So many sounds you can make, and even more song possibilities. Hell, i even saw a guy make a perfect recreation of "Age of War" iconic soundtrack. I'm loving this game
nice game, a lot of fun experimenting with the sounds and functions! it took me some effort to get into the mechanics, especially with layers and stuff.. but the tutorials are fine, you just have to do them xD the automatic sound thing is really nice! and I love to get inspiration by other mixes in the universe <3 What I missed: during the tutorial everything is locked, you just can play around with only the thing you are currently introduced to. I would've needed to be able to play around with more during the tutorial, because I felt I needed to understand what was happening around, to really grasp the thing being introduced to me. I understand, that everything being unlocked can induce an overwhelming feeling, but everything being locked feels like I have no chance to recognise differences when I change things. Also I don't understand how to find mixes again, if I subscribed to them xD Do I just have to memorize their place in the universe? Or is there a list somewhere of my subscribed mixes?
A really fun and enjoyable experience. Zuko's done a great job making this accessible for all levels of experience. It's visiually striking and just a fun vibe
For a solo dev this is incredible. I love using this to create songs/melodies. There are a TON of ways you can customize every note, make it take longer for the note to get to the next note and there are LAYERS DONKEY. But the one thing I HATE about this is that the "vocals" sound more like an alien than anything else. I've seen a handful of other mixes, I don't think anyone actually ever uses the alien vocals XD. Again VERY impressive and I love music, so this... tool? (I'm not sure if I should call it a game or a tool honestly XD) has been really fun. it's been a blast seeing what other people have made. I'm sure you'll have fun with it too, even if you just want look at what other people have made. Random side note: I just realized that the max graphics literally says "What are you doing?" and its FANTASTIC.
I love everything about this game. there may be some relatively small shortcomings as it's still in development, but i am nothing but impressed with the game's concepts and application. it's a little daunting at first, but there are a lot of easy to browse examples of eminence to learn from and get inspired by. i began my play experience with absolutely no musical theory or experience, just passing interest. and now i'm having fun developing an ear for harmony. Thank you, Chriszuko, You've a beautiful mind.
