About

Everything you hear and see is 100% real-time and editable in-game. It is designed with beginners in mind with tutorials and automatic vibe nodes to help make it so you don't need to know anything about music to have fun. For those who want to push it a bit further, you can edit each note, scale, and FX to get a node to sound exactly how you'd like.
DISCLAIMER: The music you create in Mix Universe CAN be used for commercial purposes (Spotify, youtube, etc etc) so long as you are using the clearly marked royalty free instruments in-game (Please see terms of use / eula for more information). Although the game is not intended to be used as a digital audio workstation, some Mixonauts have made incredible things so far!
If you run into any issues, please join the discord and lemme know! I am a solo-dev doing the best I can so every bit helps in terms of feedback!
Create many different nodes and connect them together to play sounds and visuals.
Sounds can be chosen from a variety of built in libraries (Piano, Drums, Space Strings, Synths, and More)
Sounds can be altered by adding elements to them (Volume, Duration, Attack, Pitch, LFO, Filtering, Reverb, Delay, High Pass, Low Pass, Bit Crush, and More)
Nodes can be moved, rotated, scaled, and snapped to a grid.
Fully functional undo and redo system.
Allow sharing mixes on the universe using mod.io.
Aimed to be friendly to those who are new to music and music creation.
Node creation is super easy! You can click and drag to paint them down and they will automatically connect to their closest nodes.
The entire node editing system is designed to try and make music creation as easy as it can be.
Every note can be edited after being randomly generated.
Drum patterns can be edited quickly and allows for a ton of variety.
All editing is built with multiple selections in mind.
There are other node types as well that are purely visual to help you make entire musical worlds!

After a mix is made you can save that and upload it to the universe directly in-game to share with the community. Then others can open up what you make, play it and potentially use it for inspiration to start something they create!

Great concept, Great music. Could add more stuff in the future like 8bit sounds for retro game design
This game has been one of the coolest music related purchases I have made. The dedication by the dev is unreal, and it great to see that after multiple years now, there is still working being done to add more sounds and vibes. Highly recommend to anyone that wants to create music in any capacity, considering I am using it to recreate classical piano, something entirely different from the intended purpose. My only selfish request of the dev is to add more melodic percussive sounds, such as Marimba, Vibraphone. They don't exactly match the theme but hey a man can dream Great game, innovative idea, highly recommend
A really fun, gamified DAW. Has plenty of options available, even in early access, and has been very performant and stable so far. Excited to see how it develops.
Its not your typical DOW program. setting up the nodes takes decent time. Time signature is locked to 4/4 at the time of writing this review. long buffers or rests between notes are done through chaining, "silent" nodes between long chains of delay. Expect short looping tracks. The UI can feel a bit Janky. BPM is locked to like, I think 96, and only goes up by factors of like, 1.25%, 1.50, (etc). If you know what you want to do, it can be a neat little "Flashy colors and sounds" ADHD thing. Would put in the music class's computers to pull out for one day. 6/10. Good, waiting for better.
The game is what it says on the tin (well, description) and honestly the only fault I can give it is that the tutorial is a little tricky to wrap my head around at first. It's an oddly satisfying, beautifully sounding game that really is whatever you make of it
This game is SUPER underrated. Some of the things that I like about the game is how you can make anything you want. But one thing about the game that I don't really like is that for me as a musician, the game doesn't have an option to turn on notes on a staff, but I understand why that has not been implemented. I also think that this game has some things to fix (like the tutorial) but I also see that this game has massive potential. Also I think for the game to get more players it needs more advertisements or some creator to review it. But my over all review of the game is a 7.9/10
dpesnt work on Arch.
It's music you can code. I feel like I've seen that exact idea done a thousand times, but this is the only time I've ever seen it actually click. I still can't make music, but I can damn well have fun failing to
I don't have much time in this game yet, but I am sure that is going to change. This game is amazing. I highly recommend.
Still missing some features but going to be a great game
