About
You are the sovereign of a town called Mistwinter Bay. The sovereign you create decides the fate of the town and everyone in it. Decide which buildings to build and who gets to live in town. Interact with your townsfolk by sending them on missions or hang out one-on-one. Each character is unique, with their own profession, personal history and strengths and weaknesses. Deal with international politics by befriending or becoming enemies with powerful foreign leaders. Watch the seasons pass as you are faced with a unique, random event every month. The way you decide to handle an event not only affects the ending of the event itself, but the entire town. Will you become a sovereign loved by all or will you adapt your choices to please someone in town – or perhaps someone across the sea?

Create the sovereign you want to be with the powerful character creator. Choose between a variety of body types, faces, hairstyles, outfits and accessories, with the ability to color most aspects freely. All options are available for all types of sovereigns.

The town of Mistwinter Bay is home to all sorts of people. There are three townsfolk at your service from the start, ready to be sent to handle tasks in events if you ask them to, but more can move in by expanding the town with additional buildings. You can hang out with the locals one-on-one, if your reputation is good enough. Eventually, this may even lead to marriage. Keep in mind, however, that they are their own individuals, with their own opinions, and they may like or dislike you based on your actions. If you are unlucky – or cruel – your actions may even spell their death.

At your assistance are your two advisers – Jacques and Sophia – who keep you updated on any and all things going on in Mistwinter Bay and beyond. Trust your advisers or go against them during random, unique events that occur every month. The choices you make in these events may affect individual townsfolk, the entire town, and maybe even places beyond it.

Mistwinter Bay can be expanded at your leisure – if you have the resources required. You decide which buildings to build and ultimately who lives in the town. Most buildings are associated with a character, so when a new building is built, you can expect a new face in town. If you are ever curious about who can move in to town, make sure to check out the local inn every season to see who has journeyed to Mistwinter Bay.

Mistwinter Bay is but a small town on a great continent full of colorful cultures and people. As a new player on the continental arena, you get the chance to meet and interact with some of the most powerful people on the continent of Hruminus. If you play your cards right, you may gain powerful allies – maybe even more than that.

If you have found your true love, you may start a family together by adopting one of four children. Every child has their own personality and your interactions with them will shape their future – and by extension, the future of Mistwinter Bay.

Absolutely delightful game. I enjoyed every single second of my playthrough and I look forward to doing many more just to see the outcomes. Thank you so much for making this game!
Erewen brought me to tears. 10/10 game all the way around <3
This game's music legitimately gave me a headache
I had some events I struggled on when I first got the town- evildoers who wanted to cause havoc. This notably changed when I got Celia- she's a one-woman army, an evil-slaying murder machine. While I married Erewen, it was always hilarious and enjoyable when I had some sort of horrific problem that I pointed Celia to and she just resolved it in roughly two dialogue boxes with ruthless efficiency.
I was reluctant to get this at it's price at first. I found the extensive content and seemingly meaningful choices do imho make the price reasonable. That said; TLDR: Issue Resolved left game on the entirety of play time. First time game was shut off would no longer load. Game Crashes at load screen. This is the returned error: ___________________________________________ ############################################################################################ ERROR in action number 1 of Create Event for object obj_game: JSON parse error at gml_Object_obj_game_Create_0 ############################################################################################ gml_Object_obj_game_Create_0 (line -1) Developer replied with a fix that works. Hopefully this bug will be fixed soon so its no longer an issue. Thank you for the speedy reply!
Extremely enjoyable game! The overall development pace was good, the characters were well written, the events engaging and just overall a lovely little jewel to spend some time on!
Honestly this game is great! I wish Steam had recommended it to me sooner. First off, this is a mostly visual novel game with some strategy involved. If you're looking for a good VN with a slight twist then you'll probably really like this game. One of my favorite things about this game is the worldbuilding. They made a very interesting world but it doesn't feel like it's all jammed down your throat at the beginning. Some games love early game info dumps but this isn't one of them. As you play through the game you learn more and more about the world. I'm on my second playthrough and there are still new things I'm learning. The game also has an encyclopedia if you ever want to learn more. The characters in this game are also great. When I first heard that there was over 30 romanceable characters I was worried that each character would get barely any screen time. Luckily they did a good job giving each character enough screen time to show off all of their charms. Also it's impossible to see all the characters in one playthrough. Each building is associated with one character and most of the build spots require you to choose between 2 different buildings. You'll need at least 2 playthroughs if you want to meet everyone. Despite all the great things I love about this game there is one thing that kind of frustrates me. The random events are definitely very interesting but since they're random there's a luck factor involved when playing, especially early game. In the early game you have very few resources coming in and if you get an event that requires a lot of resources it'll take you forever to build back up. I started saving before each main event in case I got a bad event. Reverse, the late game can end up really easy and by the end I didn't need to worry about what resources were needed. I think this could've been fixed if they had split up events into for example, early, middle, and late game events. That way events could've been tailored to still challenge you without setting you back way too much. Anyway I really love this game and I definitely see myself doing at least a couple more playthroughs. If you're a visual novel fan then I definitely suggest you try this game.
The game is supposed to tell a story like novel, not make you wandering in a clueless walk in a lore over-abundant world. I've completed first year and find that there is NO main story line! It seems all the major events are totally random. It spells disaster for game design.
