The bad reviews of this game are insane and demonstrate a fundamental lack of understanding what Sokpop does. They build small games quickly and then release them and move to the next game. Their output is insanely high (a game every month or so). If this game doesn't quite do it for you, try out one of the other 200 games in their back catalogue. There really are some incredible creative finds, and lots of great. But no, they do not polish forever, unless something is a crazy hit (like Stacklands was). I played it some time ago when first released. I had a good time getting through to the very end like I do with most of their games. It was relatively short, but I think still worth the price (even if a little high for them). Review bombs of everything that is not a forever game has got to stop. Devs absolutely are allowed to leave something at good enough and move on to a new idea.
The game is abandoned before completion, don't bother.
While I do like the concept the current execution is horrible. Pathfinding is mid, automation is both micromanaging hell and buggy and sprite design is so odd you tend to click the wrong thing.
Clunky and half the mechanics aren't even fully developed. Honestly just an incomplete game. I wish I could get my money back.
Not good enough. There was a recent update to the game, after a long pause of no updates or communication. I played the game again and started a new save-file. I was disappointed. The game looks weird, textures flicker, controls are inconsistent and I struggle to have my dude do what I want. The bats are behaving odd, 80% just being passive, sometimes try to steal something from me. The biggest turnoff is the controls and the flickering textures. Maybe if these things gets fixed the game will be ok, but not good unless more things are improved/fixed.
Abandoned game
Was looking forward to this game based on the history of the developer. Fun concept, but what a bummer that it wasn't finished.
Great game, no love from the devs. Try it out at your own risk. (It is fun don't get me wrong but where is the progression and ai pathing isn't so smart lol
The Developer actually came back and finished the game, after it being abandoned for so long. There was always the hope that they would, but seen too many games abandoned to truly believe it would ever happen. Yet here we are. I've always been a fan of Mistward. It has a simple wholesome design that is a defining characteristic shared by most Sokpop games. You can either play Mistward as a colony sim or ignore that part entirely and play it as a straight up solo survivor game. The progression tech tree is a little silly going from hammering a few sticks together to building a nuclear power plant in no time at all. However, that's okay, because the game is full of charm, and sometimes it's okay when games don't take themselves too seriously.
we are so back, the dev just updated the game
