MISERY is a 1–10 player co-op survival game set in a nuclear disaster zone. Here, every day is a struggle: search radioactive ruins for resources, build your bunker, craft weapons, and explore a weird, procedurally-generated world with your friends. Beware of anomalies, monsters, and armed bandits.

About
You play as PMCs guarding a secret research institute in the Republic of Zaslavie.
The Scientific Institute for Research of the Zaslavie Exclusion Zone (SIRZEZ) was built before the war to study anomalies and artifacts. Over time, these artifacts became the cause of conflict between international military blocs. Neither side could allow artifacts to fall into enemy hands, ultimately leading to nuclear war.
A siren sounds — a nuclear bomb is incoming! You have 60 seconds to grab whatever you can and make it to the bunker. Then, the survival begins. Each day, you venture into the Exclusion Zone to scavenge procedurally generated locations: abandoned military bases and research stations, radioactive wastelands, and ruined cities.
The Zone is full of secrets and deadly traps, and radiation is far from the only threat.
You’ll encounter other survivors ready to kill for food and resources, weird mutated creatures with unique behaviors, and various anomalies.

No one knows how exactly anomalies work or their origin. Some phenomena can help you, others will tear you apart. Anomaly areas often hide artifacts — rare, valuable items distorted by anomalies and charged with unique effects.

The bunker is your new home.
Expand it room by room: install generators (gas, solar, or gnome-powered), build crafting stations, grow food, cook meals, and decorate your shelter with whatever you drag back from raids: a table, a dresser, a worn-out sofa, or even a cozy rug. Don’t worry, the previous owners won’t be needing them anymore.
After each raid, you can unwind and chill at the bar in the basement of the institute: have a drink, talk to other survivors, and trade your loot and rare artifacts with the merchant.

Remember, watch your vitals.
In the Zone, people can easily die from hunger, thirst, radiation sickness, or lose their minds and turn on their teammates. Go out looting during the day, and return to bunker before nightfall.
And one last thing: the Zone plays with your mind. Too much stress and you’ll start hearing whispers, seeing things that aren’t there, and feeling someone watching you. Lose your grip, and not even the bunker will save you. Nothing will.
Life in MISERY isn’t easy.
But there’s nothing better than going through it all together.
Exploring bandos with friends, watching each other’s backs, sitting by the fire, drinking whatever’s left, and exhaling smoke into the cold rain — in moments like these, you can feel alive again!

very good game, i have fun dying
Jodidamente bueno y divertido no mas que decir.
Looking at other negative reviews, I will say I am unaware of certain controversies outside of the temporary delisting that occurred, and the reason for that is hazy in my memory at best. That said, onto the actual review that doesn't speak personally to the team; just to the game presented before me. For starters, this game didn't immediately wow me despite having fun. On the surface, it is a retro-graphics (specifically somewhere between PS1 and PS2, maybe just accurately early PS2) themed game which is a usual grab for me visually. The handling of the graphics and art style is very well done considering the setting of the game being that of a post-apocalyptic eastern Europe. It plays well into the vibe that's being conveyed and adds to the atmosphere more often than not. The tutorial could be ( a lot) better but it isn't the worst I've seen. I would recommend a guide for anything beyond the tutorial and game play loop as to what your overall goal is besides "survive as long as possible". This game is 1000% exploration first, so if you're not really into that kind of thing I would pass now and disregard the review since THAT IS the main loop. Explore > scavenge > try not to die > craft > profit. If you are, I would also recommend doing a few runs on the easiest difficulty as an extension of the tutorial. A lot of this game is trial by fire, so you might as well go in where you're given the most matches to do so (not literally, there are no matches...yet). I'm gonna compare this game to quite a few games but bare with me, this game has a lot in common (but not necessarily inspired by) with Abiotic Factor, but not nearly as complex, which in this case with a lack of an overall story, is for the better. The crafting is simple but to me, decently satisfying, especially knowing the real battle was finding the supplies (or grinding for rubles) to buy what I needed. I like that while planting and growing seeds is great for food, it actually has more utility as "fast cash crops" to be sold to traders. Good way to have consistent cash flow, and turn otherwise useless items into fertilizer to keep the cash coming. The second game I want to compare this to is Hunt: Showdown BUT a very specific element of it that is currently my only frame of reference. It's generally satisfying, albeit (intentionally) clunky to aim. Which makes desperate fights for survival feel like a true breath of relief when the firing stops or the monster stops making noise. Early game on Hardcore, fights are best left avoided if you can help it until you either have good gear, good weapons, or both. Axes and spiked bats have generally been my safety weapons but know that they break. You'll want a couple of back ups at least. I'd compare it to Tarkov but I've never played and will never play. Some of the environments also echo Hunt in autumn shinings, specifically the Desalle map, but outside of the ability to get a Mosin, that's about where the comparisons stop. This may go without saying but I believe Metro and/or Stalker were both heavy influences, and actually, while I'm writing this, I remember that the delisting actually had something to do with Stalker. I won't comment on it. I will comment on that there were many points on the Bunker area where I felt like I was playing a much horrifying version of Artyom's adventures, and honestly, I have to give the Bunker map the #1 spot in terms of experience. It's hard, but I loved having to use light as a resource. If I wanted to shoot, I'd have to put the flashlight away and hope I'm aiming in the right direction. If not the flashlight, using enemy muzzle flashes to track. I can understand why alternatively this would be miserable and/or frustrating but I found it very fun and VERY tense. Leading up to the Bunker though, I can say that there are moments where the gameplay can start getting stale, and to that I think I would just ask that maybe there's more lobby customization, and a setting that shortens and/or changes when certain areas become available. If that disables certain achievements, I'd be okay with it. While the farm/field lands are pretty in a brutal way, I was finding myself not caring if I didn't go out on a certain shining, just because I had seen it so many times. Lastly, this game does flirt with being another friend-slop entry, but I had a lot of fun playing solo. I've played with friends which is its own type of fun. It has heart, it has passion, and the devs clearly do care. It's funny, but not overly quirky or brain-rotten. It still lets moments be genuinely scary, or tense, and the world itself is actually quite depressing for the little story that does exist by implication. The frozen in time scenes you come across of the military sticking up and shooting down what looks to be normal people, smaller people (or, kids) curled up in a corner permanently crying or terrified, the eternally burning house where people are frozen in place trying to escape. It does add a lot to the world you're trying to survive. I would pick this up AT full price but it does go on sale often enough that if you need to really pinch pennies, it should be attainable. Good luck out there.

For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.
