Really good VN. Hilarious story, nice visuals, well-written characters. Here you perform real investigation and collect evidence to uncover the truth. You choices really matter and affect the story in multiple ways, so it has a lot of different endings. It has some bugs and minor issues but overal impression was very good... But hey, something must be wrong here. I said so many good words about this VN, but review is red, so you may reasonably suspect that there must be some catch, isn't it? And you are dаmn right! You see, this VN is a scam. Initially this product was called Misadventures of Laura Silver: EP 1. Yes, it's not a full VN, not even a half of VN, just an episode 1. One day developer simply decided to change the name and sell single episode as a full VN. Do you see any such information on the store page? Maybe in the description on the right? No? Maybe in the description below? Also nothing? How sad... Ahh, yes, you can find some old announcement on the Steam forum. Unfortunately I discovered it too late. And many potential buyers will miss this crucial info as well. You know, it is not in my rules to buy story-oriented games in parts. I had EP1 on my wishlist for a long time, waiting for that day when it will be finally finished. So when that 'EP 1' part finally vanished from the game's name - I grabbed it right away... only to discover much later that, in fact, nothing was finished. Developer just changed the name and called it a day. Look, I understand that it sucks to lose publisher's support, just because he lost interest in the game. It's really disheartening for me that this story will never get any more development. But the work is not done. You can't call it a complete product and sell it as a complete produc, just because you have no means for further work. On top of that, with a 'farewell patch' developer ruined one of the achievements. There is no way to get it at this moment. The game still has unfixed bugs. Developer is totally silent on forum, but he is still selling the game on Steam and clearly getting money for this unfinished product. I'm honestly surprised that so many people here just swallowed this blatant scam and didn't downvote it into oblivion.
Game was abandoned, you can't complete everything in game, due to it being broken(verified on the community pages), for me to fully complete a game I need to get all achievements(I am an over achiever and need this validation in my life). Just give me the toilet attachment!!!
I want to be fair in my assessment of this game. I like a lot of it- the visual style, the characters, some of the ideas presented... but unfortunately, I cannot *recommend* it for anyone. There's little things like small dialogue bugs, which are to be expected in an indie visual novel, I won't hold that against the game. However, the awful thing is- if you *do* like it, and want more of the characters, and expansions on the obvious dangling plot threads, you aren't getting that. There were apparently plans for a sequel that had to be scrapped. Again, I'm not holding that against the devs, but I'm leaving this review to warn anyone who wants to play the game. There are many unanswered questions left in the story- not "unanswered questions" in the sense of pedantic details or plot holes, either- they very clearly set up things that are supposed to be intriguing and that intrigue can never pay off. The true ending, especially, leaves things hanging. This absolutely reads as more of a prologue than a full game, unfortunately, with things getting brought up as something to pay attention to that will never actually get addressed. (The story is quite short- a lot of the playtime listed on my profile isn't actually "playing the game", it's skipping through text as fast as possible to either get a random achievement or get back to a decision point) Also, depending on what sort of person you are, this may or may not be a dealbreaker, but: you cannot 100% this game without going through some process to download an older version of the game. The achievement broke in an update. I have not attempted to get it as of now, but if it shows me as having any further playtime after this review was posted, that is what I attempted to do. I hope the devs went on to do things they enjoy. They obviously have talent, but as of right now with everything abandoned, I cannot in good conscience recommend it.
Not fond of the art and story. The options menu is bugged when I access in game as I have to choose another tab in order to exit it. It also randomly zooms in the options menu. Chapter 2 is unfinished due to financial reasons from what I read. Best not to purchase this game.
First of all I recommend to those who can to play it in Turkish, it's got all the little gags and puns n ♥♥♥♥ of the language, since it was made by Turkish developers Though English speaking players will also enjoy the game, being able to play it in Turkish made it special to me The music? SLAPS The artsyle? SLAPS Tis a visual novel, you're a detective/cop who investigates the supernatural You're playing a very sarcastic, no-nonsense lady who's followed around by a sunshine golden retriever-like man The story's a little too convenient, and sometimes the game just breaks. It does have a danganronpa-like "put these events in order" minigame I mean it's a fun game, the characters are nice, the story is nice, and you can tell that the creators were having fun with it But it's also painfully an indie game, only 3 people worked on it and the second chapter got cancelled so it just leaves you wanting for more If you think that's good enough, then I'd definitely recommend it, if you're saying "Boat I'm neurodivergent and I don't wanna obsess over a game that has little to no fan content, no longer getting bug fixes or a second chapter" Then yeah don't play it lmao Oh also like,,,,,,, hot people Tbh the game's worth the price just for the art in it A "skip previously read dialogue" button would've cut my playtime in half tho
Great paranormal mystery with a really fun cast, I especially loved the titular MC. A shame there won't be more, there is definitely much more teased in the world. However it works as a standalone as the core story is wrapped up nicely. Still, I hope one day the devs will return to it.
Misadventures of Laura Silver is a visual novel by Attic Salt Studios where you play as Laura Silver, a supernatural investigator who has to solve a mysterious murder at her hotel while on the hunt for a creature called a vodnik. This was originally intended to be the first game in a series, but episode 2 was canceled, so I'll be judging this as a standalone game. In this game, you guide Laura Silver through her investigation. Most of the game is fairly linear and involves choosing between dialogue options, although there are a couple of places where you interrogate different characters and one place where you have to reconstruct events. I did not enjoy the interrogations. It was really hard to tell what the right answers were without trial and error, and for at least one of the interrogations that affects what ending you’re able to get. I ended up having to look at a walkthrough for one part because I couldn’t figure out where the conversation was supposed to be going and I got tired of having to restart the section to try things out. I generally liked the story, although there were parts of it that didn’t make much sense. Most of the investigation is very linear, and you piece together what really happened in the murder and the connections the different characters have to the vodnik and other supernatural events. Solving the murder was pretty unsatisfying. The motive didn’t make a lot of sense and in the final confrontation Laura just ends up knowing a lot of things that didn’t come up in the investigation. However, I thought the rest of the subplots were interesting and came together in a more satisfying way, and I was interested in seeing where the story would have gone if it had continued further. Although the game never got its intended second chapter, this entry does mostly stand on its own. The main mystery of the game is self-contained. If you get the good ending, you’ll know who committed the murder and what was really going on with most of the main supernatural mysteries. The main characters aren’t fleshed out very deeply, and there were a lot of dangling minor plot threads that probably would have been explored in a sequel, but the game doesn’t end with a big cliffhanger. The sound design had some nice touches. There is no voice acting, but with each line of text you hear typewriter keys, and each character has a different sound and rhythm. There wasn’t a lot of music, but I enjoyed it when it was present. The game is translated a little weirdly. There are a lot of minor grammar mistakes and some odd word choices. It’s pretty noticeable, but doesn’t make the game more difficult to play. There are also a couple of bugs. I once had to reload a save because all of the dialogue options disappeared after I looked in the notebook. One of the achievements is also unachieveable. Although it had a number of weaknesses, I liked Misadventures of Laura Silver. I enjoyed parts of the story and most of the gameplay, although both had some frustrating issues. It had a lot of potential and I’m disappointed it won’t be getting a sequel. 5/10
Artwork is nice. Case is fine. I like the mystery. There is even a "deduction mini-game" where you have to fill in what happened... There are four endings... Three bad and one "true"... Although it ends with "more cases to come" kinda thing. I liked everything... Despite some of the parts felt weird, but okay... What I hated the most were the kids. They were freaking annoying af! They were pompous, narcissistic and entitled little... I nearly stopped reading when either of those THREE appeared on the screen. The best part was when the girl choked the other kid. That's the only good part about those beeps. Otherwise fine. Kept my interest. These two Detectives were better off getting a supernatural dog. Loyal and intelligent. Thank you!!! :) =)
Çözünürlük sorunu var, tam ekran yaptığınız takdirde yazılar altta kalacak ve bir daha ayarlama yapamayacaksınız. Tek çözüm Steam'i komple silip yüklemek olacak. Başlatıcı ayarları bile çalışmıyor ne yazık ki. Başka bir yöntem varsa yorum olarak belirtebilirsiniz. Belki silinse bile o ayar kalabilir.
As someone just picking up this game without any knowledge of the developers (with how apparently this game was originally planned to have multiple chapters and was ultimately left as only one chapter) because Steam recommended it to me, I don't recommend playing this game. Maybe if you really liked the artstyle and wanted to support the developers, you'd enjoy this, but I honestly could not stick it out for very long. This is a visual novel focused around basically being a detective looking into European folk-cultures and cryptids. I might try playing this again in the future to see if I change my mind, but a decent number of the characters are often just obnoxious - there's no other way to put it (like from the beginning of the game Laura is really quick to shoot things with her gun and jumps to strange conclusions about how to save people; the hotel director likes causing unnecessary relationship conflicts to pretend to care about his child (causing problems to then solve them is not endearing)). I don't really have a reason to want to keep playing when I'm thrust into a setting with no explanation of any character's motives/wants and I dislike how the MC is acting.
