This game is great...if you don't play it on PC. I originally played this on Xbox 360 around the time it came out, so I've played through it all before. This game was on sale so I bought it on steam and when I finally got around to playing it, I was having fun and enjoying it but there are points in the game where it just runs terribly. I played through those rough spots, but I am stuck at a spot in the game that I cannot get past because the game crashes EVERYTIME. I have looked it up and people online are just like "yeah it does that". As much as I love this game, I cannot recommend it on PC. You can probably pick up a copy for the 360 or PS3 for like $5 at a local video game store and play it that way.
visually stunning. incredibly atmospheric. so bright and optimistic despite its narrative and themes. nostalgic, too. the soundtrack (which was my introduction to Solar Fields) is absolutely brilliant as well. unfortunately the janky parkour and combat systems haven't aged the best. while they're not terrible, they certainly make me wish the game was of a different genre - i'd love to play an rpg title set in the same universe, or at least one with the same visual identity as Mirror's Edge.
DO NOT PLAY ON CONTROLLER This game is pretty fun, short and to the point, good story too! Has held pretty good against time!
my mirror is edging
Pros -Cool short story and the birth of most free running games Cons -not so fun when it becomes climbing puzzle simulator - The grapple macanic janky
amazing parkour game in the city buildings
Set in a near-future quasi-dystopia, but weirdly (ironically, even?) this game's world is one that I simply love inhabiting. The phenomenal visual style, music, and gameplay all come together to create an experience that I apparently can't get enough of. I've played the main story campaign just a stupid number of times by now, and will probably play it a stupid amount more. And to the best of my knowledge, it's still the best Jackie Chan Simulator out there.
