Just hit the credits on this and honestly, what a ride. Remember trying to play this when i was around 14 and not being able to get past the water pipes level but i was finally able to finish it and for the most part, I absolutely loved it. The parkour is incredible. When you get into a rhythm, nail your jumps, and keep your momentum going across the rooftops, the game feels amazing. The clean art style and electronic soundtrack still hold up beautifully too (Still Alive definitely is going into my playlist.) The story is nothing mind-blowing, but the fight against a rigged system, family bonds, betrayal and loss actually kept me invested. That said, the combat is janky. The game is at its best when you're running, but it constantly forces you to stop and fight. Chapter 9 has a server room level that is easily very frustrating. Overall though? Totally worth playing for the parkour alone. Immaculate vibes, genuinely had a great time. 8/10
This game is the pinnacle of all parkour games. It has a lot of elements which are not hard to learn but very very enjoyable, It has some bad sides too like combat and the enemy ai, but considering this game is a parkour game i think they are okay and i wouldnt expect something super fancy out of it anyway. One thing i will say is though, the game left a lot of blank points in story and didnt tell us what happened between there later on i didnt play the second game yet, i hope the rest of the story and the blank points are being told there. Overall fantastic short parkour game, 8/10
One of the best platformers of all time! Gorgeous art direction, intuitive controls, and a solid story heightened by an tasteful electronic score. Mirror's Edge was ahead of it time on release and still manages to feel so almost 20 later. If you're a fan of platformers or sci fi/dystopian settings I highly recommend.
Very simple yet clean, smooth and story is also good.
11/10
Remember when EA had the guts to make something new instead of pushing same release every year? Mirror’s Edge was from those times. This was my first time of replaying this since its release. For a game that is close to 2 decades old by now it is still a joy to play. It still is beautiful to look at (Just do not go inspecting everything close), and gameplay still feels fresh and responsive minus few hiccups here and there that we can most likely file under engine age. Or skill issue. The City is designed to have nice amounts of variation in the chapters to still give the player enough space to choose their route while gently nudging them towards the goal. Only major complaint I personally have is on the combat, especially when there are multiple gunners aiming at you in small tight spaces and you would need to not fumble the disarm and turned into Swiss cheese. All in all, it’s a shame that ideas like these are alien nowadays to bigger houses but at least we can still enjoy these gems. Mirror’s Edge is definitely worth your time even in 2026.
First time playing this since it first came out, still super mid. Cool concept with zero substance. Pick it up on some super sale if you are curious about the parkour. Story - 0/10 Voice Acting - 0/10 Music - 7/10 Art Style - 7/10 Parkour - 8/10 Combat - 5/10
Unique, original, beautiful and innovative. Works awesome on the Steam Deck.
