I genuinely love Mirror's Edge Catalyst despite everything that people have said about it over the years. Yes, it's definitely not like the original, it improved on some things while kinda fumbled some others but it has been a fun game regardless. That being said recently I lost the ability to play it. I see some people say that the game is stuck on infinite loading screen for them. I didn't have that problem for a while even after servers for online features were shut down, I could just play the game normally with no issues. However these days for me personally the game doesn't even boot up and the EA Launcher is telling me to "reset my password and restart the game" which I tried and it didn't do squat. It really seems that the game is no longer playable without EA's good-for-nothing app denying access to a SINGLE PLAYER GAME that had its online features removed a long time ago which BTW also makes some achievements unobtainable without Voodoo magic. You can try and buy this game on Steam or, god forbid, directly on the EA App and see if it works for you but be warned that the game may or may not even boot up. And it's truly a shame because, like I said, I love this game with all my heart just as much as I love the original (which is still 100% playable, no thanks to modern EA). At this point my only hope of experiencing anything close to Mirror's Edge Catalyst is Panline, an indie spiritiual successor to a long dead game and franchise that I think looks very promising and any Mirror's Edge fan should be looking at it closely, link will be below. Best wishes to its developers and nothing but F@$K YOU to pinheads at EA for ruining yet another game! https://store.steampowered.com/app/4171660/PANLINE?snr=1_7_15__13

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

i really like the gameplay but i wish it was continuation of the first mirrors edge rather then being a reboot changing the whole story but not actually progressing
Does some things better and some things worse than the original Mirror´s Edge. Overall just as enjoyable. ALSO: Luckily modders figured out a way to get achievements working again, after the server shutdown.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst excels at what it does best: parkour and movement, but the game struggles to maintain that excitement across all its content. It’s worth playing for the traversal alone, just don’t expect a perfectly polished or fully completable experience. A gigantic downside, especially for completionists, is that some Steam achievements are bugged, which can make it impossible to reach 100% completion. This can be frustrating if you enjoy fully completing games like me. I know that there is a workaround, but when you pay for a product, you expect it to work as it should. 06/10 – amazing movement held back by inconsistent design and technical issues. i found the first one more enjoyable overall.
Un de mes jeux favorite all of time.
Not bad. Was it as good as the first one? Not really. The ending could have been so much better and I wish they never changed the original story of Mirrors Edge. And after 10 years of absolutely zero Mirrors Edge content, I think its safe to say that there will never be another Mirrors Edge game. (unfortunately) I honestly think that Half-Life 3 being announced and released this year, dinosaurs getting revived, aliens announcing their existence to humanity, being eaten by a shark in a desert, while being thrown around in a ef7 tornado, AI becoming sentient and overthrowing humans, being hit by a meteorite , AND getting a stand (JoJo reference) ALL AT THE SAME TIME is more possible than this series ever getting another sequel. Thanks a lot, EA. Thanks a lot as in ♥♥♥♥ you. But anyways this a pretty decent game you should play it maybe if its on sale though.
absolute frutiger aero
It's been ages since I last played Mirror's Edge, recently went back and the game holds up great. Honestly, the jank makes it even better. Easily one of the best movement in any game I've ever played. There's weight to it that you can learn to manipulate and contributes so well towards that feeling of "flow." It's been ages since I last played Catalyst, remembered not liking it, didn't want to say that it's bad without having played it. It's open world slop. There's so much to say about it but suffice to say that every single aspect that made the original interesting and fun has been stripped down, sanitized, then sanded with the toilet paper of an EA CEO. To explain why it's such a tragedy though... Bigger map means more fun options when running right? No. It means you run in a straight line for 5-10 seconds before being faced with the thrilling choice to either jump off the box or jump off the railing. Either way you land on the same part of the same roof and this repeats until you get to your destination. You don't even see most of the map anyways because you're treading over the same needlessly long, nondescript, empty hallways over and over. Even writing this just having finished the story, I'd say that the final mission has the only real memorable moments in the whole game. The absolute biggest thing (for me) is that they neutered the movement. There is no weight or momentum. The camera feels like it's the head of a chicken with how stable it has to be whenever it vaults over objects. They took out the fun jank but still keep random contextual movements deciding that you're wallrunning into an abyss. Even if they had the greatest level design known to mankind, it'd be hard to enjoy it when getting and conserving speed feels completely unrewarding. If you want more Mirror's Edge, look into Mirror's Edge speedrunning. Side jump boosts, kick glitches, wallrun boosts, these things are relatively accessible and make the game look completely different while still keeping what's fun at it's core. You won't get that here. Here you get an EA executive looming over your shoulder telling you how to play the game.
