I played the game a couple years back on EA play because I loved the first mirrors edge but all I can remember was how disappointed I was. The only thing that I enjoyed was the free running and graphics which you may think is all you need to make a game like mirrors edge work but it just felt empty. The puzzles and story really held it back for me. I may give it another shot one day but my love for the original will always make me feel like this was just mid. I really hope that one day we'll get another mirrors edge that lives up to the og

14 of 15 markets; the rest we haven't asked for this title, not markets where it is unavailable.
14 on sale1 answered “not sold”0 we did not ask
The 1 “not sold” market is read from the Steam price pass of Aug 23: that day the store answered for this game elsewhere and gave no price there. The 14 priced markets are the same rows as the table above — each the latest price we hold, dated here when it is older than that pass. The 0 marked “not asked” were not put to this store at all — either it has no storefront there or we do not collect it yet, and neither is a statement about the game. A refusal is a refusal on one day; a store can list a title again tomorrow.

Game has a lot of things going for it. Parkour is fun, the story is somewhat interesting, and I ♥♥♥♥ with the artstyle, reminds me of The Giver. 8/10
This review is written by someone, who's favorite game of all time, is Mirrors Edge. First of all - if you are a fan of the first game, don’t play this thinking it’s going to be nowhere near as good as the first. Second of all - if you have not played Mirrors Edge at all - I'd actually recommend starting with this one, so that you can play the original ME after, and feel happiness at the end, rather than madness. Placement in relation to original game: So, coming into this gameplay, I thought that it is a sequel to the original game, and throughout playing, more and more things became out of place, so then I thought - a prequel? Nah, I had to google it after finishing about over half of the game - it is a "reimagination" of the first title. The game leads you onto thinking, that it is connected to the first game’s story, giving just a few things that are "out of order" just for you to be 100% sure you have no idea what is happening midway gameplay. Story: The first game had a perfectly scripted out story, keeping you at the edge of your seat, and a closure in a sense of - you start the game with a helicopter, and you end it all on a helicopter – perfect. The only thing this game has in terms of having a tie between beginning and the end was, well, saying that Cat will be the successor of Kroger if he dies, and at the end, she does become just that. We are being given scraps of ideas and characters from the original story, so that "the fans can't say they are not satisfied" like for example: Faiths tattoo, like Icarus, like Cat, yet they have created a completely different game, that is extremely bland, and super unsatisfying. The whole idea of saving your sister, turns into saving your "guardian", Noah, 2 times that is. The story is pretty cliché and predictable, so you figure out pretty quickly that Noah is alive after they say he is dead. Great, so you go on a couple of missions of preparation to help him escape the area he is kept at, which takes a few hours, just for him to... die in your arms right as you reach him? This was in the half point of the game, at this time, we only had 2 Cinematics where we talk to Cat, who was the person we get emotionally attached to in the first game. In both of this cinematics, she hates us. So you realize "well, Noah is the only character I was made to feel like I should care about, he is actually dead now, and there is no other character that I feel connected to, to still have a purpose saving, or no "destiny" I feel like I need to fulfill. They expect you to keep going just because “you need to help”, or because Cat is your family - and that is supposed to make you care. Well it didn't do it for me. Sidenote – the ending where Cat says “ you don’t understand, I have to” and then runs to rescue her “father” rather than sister - was super funny, because, indeed, I really don’t understand, I could actually use some more info on that, Cat! Some characters were interesting, but they were either mean as ♥♥♥♥ to me, or they didn’t have enough screen time, to make you care, or to at least have a full picture of who they really are. It is also SUPER worth pointing out, that in this game, besides just normal “secrets” you NEED to collect, you get scripts and recordings. The game should not base it’s story telling on randomly placed recordings, that are hidden out of sight. It is super funny to see, that they realize it at some point, so nearing the end of the game, they place the recordings super conveniently out in the open, so you kinda have to pick them up, because they know the player will get lost in what the story is trying to portrait. Even then, some super crucial recording were hidden, and if I wouldn’t have found them, I’d be more lost than ever. World design and Open-world: I know this game was created just to bait people using the franchise’s name, and adding OPEN WORLD sticker onto it, to lure fans in, but all in all, the open-world is not that bad, I think people that haven’t played the original, can find a lot of enjoyment in it, - I also enjoyed it for a few first hours, but there's just not that much to do, and the potential it could have had, is basically wasted. In Catalyst, I think they have “upgraded” the world so much, calling it futuristic, because well.. there’s not much to design and program, is there? I gotta say, some of those structures do have a fun spins here and there, and you are often able to open more doors than you think you could, but that’s about it. The original idea was about the 2 groups that formed, and the ground and the high structures making it like a “line” of some sorts, showing how divided the society has become. Making the buildings higher, didn’t make it seem like there’s more freedom, or didn’t make it feel more unique, it just created a world where runners can be seen all the time by anyone, as the buildings reach so hight up, you can just run into NPCs. So basically anyone that can run, could become a runner, if they just opened up their window. Speaking of which, if I can run pass by NPCs, there is definitely not enough of them, which makes the city more out of place. Mechanics: I dislike them all, I know they had to create some of them, like an upgrading system, as this is an open-world title, but going back to the same plain spots just to be able to reach a point you couldn’t before, that... has nothing interesting to offer at the end, makes it pointless. The idea of using advanced technology - while fun, again, does not align with what runners stand for. The hook thing was fun, but was it necessary? Not really. If the game is open-world there should be enough ways to approach reaching destinations without needing special equipment. Why use the technology, that you are actively up against in the story? The combat was useless, as most of the new enemies are either overpowered, or underpowered. But most of them are unavoidable. I was forced to fight them, and it took super long and was super boring. I was pleasantly surprised with the navigation system. It worked exceptionally well in this game, compared to other open-world like games, even nowadays. Overall thoughts: I am saddened to say, that the last Mirrors Edge game didn’t happen 10 years ago, but 20, as Catalyst is not what the fans were hoping for. You can clearly see, that the game was created around the open-world, rather than a story that fitted said open-world. Faith in this game is nothing alike compared to the original one. And the storytelling, with high risk - no reward strategy, because “runners don’t need a reason”, made me just mad, rather than going with the flow. Also, graphics in this game are super poor, compared to the one’s from 20 years ago, I can honestly say, that a much older game, did a better job. The choice to remove the comic-like animations, for some freeze frame imagines basically, and making the cinematics in third person, rather than first, ruined the unique vibe first ME had. Lastly, I think it's super ironic, that the game is about evil corporations ruining the fun and life of the citizens, while... EA is actively doing that to fans and new players. Besides unobtainable achievements, from what I could gather, DICE wanted to make Catalyst game linear, creating a successor of the first title - it’s EA that made them change their plans, creating an open-world game, which I guess made the initial story not work for the demands of EA, chance it was easier to create a "reimagination" rather than a new instalment in the franchise. It’s really sad to see, that there is just no other game like Mirrors Edge out there, but maybe, it’s better if it stays that way, although deep inside I will be hoping, one day we will get an instalment we all deserve. But looking at the current state of EA’s mind, I really doubt it.
I played many games for the past of 10 years. But this one changed me. The ending of this game was so exciting and sad. I have mixture of emotions right now. Perfect game, i wont forget this.
Increíble ambientación, aunque el contenido era muy repetitivo. Siento que su punto fuerte fue el apartado gráfico y la banda sonora.
I LOVE this game. While the parkour can be buggy at times, it's a lot of fun, and moving around the gorgeous futuristic city is an amazing experience! I found myself just roaming around and collecting things instead of doing the main missions (which have also had some really cool moments so far).
Mirror's Edge'in daha günümüz oyunlarına adapte olmuş hali diyebiliriz. İlki kadar fark edilir bir tarzı olmasa da açık dünyası ve oynanışı gayet iyi bir deneyim sağlıyor. Tavsiye ederim.
