P. S. If you have difficulties in the walktrough, this guide will be very useful: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3561496240
Soulessness is killing games
"In this game, you'll explore 50 colorful illustrations with adorable pets and find 3 to 10 differences in each picture" – that's a direct quote from the Steam store. I didn't buy this game myself; my friend Denis gave it to me, so thanks to him for that questionable experience. Of course, sensible people shouldn't waste money on something like this. The reasons to hate it are more than obvious. There are absolutely no positive aspects to this game. This developer/publisher, Green Goose Corporation, clearly releases the simplest, almost identical games on Steam. Mirror Quest Dog and Cat is a perfect example of how they 'develop' these games. To be more accurate, they probably use AI and pass it off as their own handiwork, shamelessly deceiving players. The whole point of the "game" is super simple: like I said before, you just have to spot the differences between two pictures of animals. Mostly, it’s kittens and puppies set against either nature or a home. There’s no timer, and the game lets you find anywhere from 3 to 7 differences (not up to 10, as it claims). Fun? Not at all. Considering all the images are randomly and thoughtlessly generated without any logical order, the gameplay isn’t even worth calling a boring routine – as ChatGPT | Midjourney might put it. By the middle of the game, differences aren’t so much difficult as they are hard to notice, and on some levels, the number of stars (difference markers) is totally off – for example, seven shows up instead of six. It’s the little details that always show how the developers feel about the game. And for these devs – they just didn’t give a damn. Talking about the sound design in these 'projects' is pretty much a waste. The so-called sound in the game is stuck in a loop, constantly cutting off and repeating abruptly, with no smooth transitions—it's just painful to listen to. You really shouldn't support this developer or any of their other projects. This game is a perfect example of how AI messes up the industry, completely erasing even the smallest human efforts to make something of their own—maybe not amazing, but at least unique and acceptable. It's just trash being passed off as a game.
P. S. 2x. Did you like the review or my profile? Drop a Steam reward for the review. Thanks to your support, I don't lose the point of playing and writing reviews!
Generic AI Art slop with awful Spot the Difference gameplay. Thankfully it gives you likes 100 achievements and it is quick to complete but it looks awful.
Warning: AI Slop This game is partially or completely made with talentless, soulless AI generated content.
Cute Hannah/Blender Games/Quantum Quiver/whatever is back with yet another fake/shell account, to dump more and more ClickTeam Fusion "asset" flips onto Steam, with no value as real games, and no effort gone into actually making games. However, what's new and oh so much fun is that the Russian dude behind all these shell accounts has worked out how to use Stable Diffusion, so now his "content" is all AI Slop. We all thought gaming couldn't get worse than what the Russian asset flippers have already done... but they've proven us wrong once more. "Mirror Quest Dog and Cat" is a construction kit copy + paste game. The "developer" used the craptastic ClickTeam Fusion video game construction kit, copying + pasting and arranging AI slop images, using premade level design tools so they could pretend they're an actual game developer. A strong argument can be made that construction kits like ClickTeam Fusion should never be used to make games for profit, as the "developer", Green Goose Corporation has done here. These construction kits are intended to teach people some of the basic principles of game development, and to make small demos to pass around with friends. They're not intended to replace to actual work of real, professional game developers. So it's inappropriate when amateurs try to use these for profit, without any actual, real game development effort taking place. This doesn't result in products that have any real meaningful value for gamers. Taking this shovelware seriously as if it was a genuine attempt to make a game, it doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. There's no option to change the resolution and no useful graphics tweaks. There's no way to ensure this is running at the native resolution of your display. There's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. The controls can't be customised because the game has such a dumbed down, simplified interface that it's just point and click stuff like a browser/Flash game. The fact that the interface is this dumbed down might be seen as a problem in itself, however... this is a fairly shallow experience if you're the kind of gamer that likes to play games with deep, rich control schemes and interaction. You'll get none of that here. The poor quality of this game is reflected by how many people spent time with it. At the time of this review, SteamDB shows the all-time peak player number was only 2 players. This is a remarkably low number, and now, the only player activity occurs once or twice a month, presumably someone loading it up to see what it is then quickly uninstalling it. Considering there's over 120 million gamers on Steam and well over 110,000 games for gamers to choose from, the overwhelming lack of interest in this low quality game is to be expected. So, should you buy this game? Is this one of the best of the 110,000+ games on Steam? "Mirror Quest Dog and Cat" is relatively cheap at $2 USD, but it's not worth it. Given the defects and quality issues with the game, coupled with the unrealistic price, this is impossible to recommend. This is also competing with over 14,000 free games available on Steam, many of them far better than this paid product.
Profile Features Limited! Valve have marked this game as "Profile Features Limited" at the time of this review. This is usually caused by poor sales figures and low community acceptance for the game (to date). Until this status changes, this game will not give you +1 to your Game Collector badge count, appear in profile achievements or any other Steam meta-accomplishments, nor can it be displayed in some profile showcases. If these factors are important to you, it may be worth holding off before buying this game.
Pohodové hledání rozdílů s roztomilými obrázky kočiček a pejsků.
I really enjoy "find the difference" games. I find them to be relaxing to play. This developer has multiple games like this. I have enjoyed all of them so far. They do use AI, but I feel it works in this context. The game has lot of different puzzles and achievements.
Wish I could give an "EH/MEH" rating. Cute, kind of hard at times. Does use AI art.
