About

Mirror Layers is a first person social horror game.
Explore the mysterious apartment 12, cooperate with other players to solve challenging puzzles and survive the horrors of the Mirror, a distorted reality tainted by tragedy.

To proceed in Mirror Layers it's necessary to interact with other players through a social network called Propaganda. Here you will be able to share advice, opinions and especially items with other people. The game also provides tools with which you can take notes and pictures; remember, "sharing" is caring!
Propaganda web/android app is now available! Cooperate with other players while you're away from MirrorOS!

The focus of the game is to solve increasingly varied and complex puzzles, exploring the environment, collecting clues, important objects and collaborating through Propaganda.
But beware, once you're through the Mirror's threshold you will not be safe anymore...

The reality behind the Mirror has more than one way to put you in danger. A creature lies within the Mirror, one moved only by its instinct to search for something... A part of you, maybe?
There's more: negative emotions permeates this place, phantoms of a dark past that will torment you.

In Mirror Layers the player acts as themselves.
You received an anonymous invitation to Apartment 12 of Chandran Building, a bizarre 16 stories tall apartment complex whose walls hold a dark secret.

This game is fantastic It blows my mind how incredibly underrated this game is. It is seriously one of the scariest horror games that I can think of, next to Darkwood, and Amnesia dark descent & bunker. It's not just "RAHH" jumpscares, it has some jumpscares but the majority of what scared me was the atmosphere and the unknown. If you like puzzles and horror games, this is THE perfect game for you. It is pretty long though, so make sure you're ready to put in a good 10 or more hours. Also I wanted to add that the computer is seriously so cool. I'm so used to computers in games being very simple with "click this icon, and go here, but these other icons are non-interactable". But not in this game, the computer is integral and is fleshed out and feels great to use. Developers, you did an amazing job and I hope you continue with whatever you might have planned for the future because this isn't just another horror game, this is top of the line. I put this game up there with the greats.

if you like good gameplay in your horror game, don't play this. The games concept is interesting, and so is the social media. But past the first one, the puzzles are WAY too hard to solve without looking at the social media. Like... In one of the puzzles you have to find paintings and their corisponing plants. That part was easy enough. But then they expect you to know a step of the puzzle is too count the fingers on the paintings??? ??????? But I could get over that since there's the social media to help you through. The part I can absolutly cannot get over is how there's a monster chasing you through thees tight ass halls while this is happening Making puzzle solving extremely frustrating. The game wants you to engage in thees interesting puzzles, but then drives you out of the interaction by throwing this ♥♥♥♥♥♥ at you. So you have to run run and hide and wait. Even worse? If he get's you twice you loose your progress! Not just items (that'd be fine, maybe), but also the notes you wrote down as well!
Interesting game. Traveling from a mirror world to the real world with the unique gimmick of getting help from real players through it's own in-game subbredit on a computer. While it was cool at first to get stuff from other players, you get an item that you can't use to proceed so you upload it than a different player can use it and you download the item you need that a different player did. That's interesting. But it has a creature that will chase you, which makes it extremely frustrating trying to do puzzles. The creature spawn stalks around the area constantly slowing down the puzzle solving TO A HALT. Since while the creature is active, you can't exit the mirror world to get to the computer to access the subreddit needed to progress and when the puzzle can be solved in the mirror world the creature is still around getting in the way. I found it easier to just DIE to the creature often, since there are periods where the creatures doesn't spawn at all. Allowing me to freely solve the puzzle. There was an fun NES segment, where I had to get all the cables, nes, a game, and controller. With I starting out with 1 and uploading it so others players can use it. Than after doing so I had to play just a cute in-game nes type game. It was fun. My favorite segment of this game. There is a part where a spooky thing happens so you have to call a number to install a fix for the game. Which is neat. The creature just happened to not spawn my entire time during this segment so really just let me enjoy the puzzle. But ran it has a puzzle showing the major weakness of the subbredit mechanic. It is required to deliver 4 boxes to a corresponding door. You have to label each box correctly by typing it in manual, so if you misspell or copy off info from someone on the subreddit that misspelled and don't catch it while you're delivering the boxes. You must exit the mirror world return to the computer to fix the spelling. That sucks but also the creature is there killing me. Making me have to get the boxes from the computer again, since items are lost on death. I also have to guess where the boxes go, I assume the players get more specific hints on which boxes go where. But I couldn't find any, so it besides the toy train going to the room with train rails. I was forced to try all of the boxes on the remaining 3 doors. Again it was just easier to die to the creature for it to have a chance to not spawn instead of run around with this thing chasing me as I tried 3 boxes on 3 doors. There was a frustrating periodic table puzzle. There is a set off buttons in the shape of that table. You have to look into windows where there are various numbers or letters. Having to figure out elements you need to press on the button and which from the random red hearings are important. If I wanted to help, I would have to go down stairs every time to exit the mirror room and check the subbredit. Only to have to see if someone explained how to deceiver the info well. Nobody did so I had to just youtube check. To figure out wtf numbers were important from the like 5 red herrings, testing it on a period table keypad. Just really tedious. So I gave up just looked it up on youtube. Fun game at first. But holly crap it felt like ♥♥♥♥ to keeping going towards the end. I am giving up on act 5, where the game handed me a safe and stethoscope. That only info as to what to do sometimes an audio que while the dile seems to randomly switching between letting me spin it clockwise or counterclockwise. Under a time limit. I have no clue how to progress even though I'm cheating by looking it up. So I'm pissed.
Really wanted to like this game. But it ended with a softlock for me. There is a puzzle where you have to look at a hanged man and the pictures looking towards it. I was able to do that, but a random monster spawned and killed me. So I was going to do it again, however this time the game spawed 5 hanged men making it impossible to place the order. Don't have patience to do the tedious puzzles all over again.
