idek what to say im speechless
Final Boss: First Try. Langweilig. Einfach.

Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx is a third-person action adventure developed by Magic Pockets and published by GameMill Entertainment, based on the popular animated series *Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir*. The game follows the exploits of Marinette Dupain-Cheng and Adrien Agreste, two ordinary Parisian teenagers who secretly transform into the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir to defend Paris from Hawk Moth and his army of corrupted villains. It’s designed as a family-friendly experience, clearly aimed at younger fans of the show, and seeks to bring the charm and energy of the series into an interactive format. While it succeeds in capturing the look and feel of its source material, the gameplay and structure struggle to rise above the standards of a typical licensed tie-in. From a presentation standpoint, the game makes a strong first impression. Paris is rendered in a bright, stylized art style that closely mirrors the television show. Character models are recognizable and faithful, and the voice acting features the familiar performances from the English and French dubs, lending authenticity for long-time viewers. Cutscenes flow naturally into gameplay, and the soundtrack—light, upbeat, and filled with the kind of heroics one expects from a Saturday-morning cartoon—fits the tone well. The game’s environments, while limited in variety, capture the essence of the show’s world: the rooftops of Paris, urban streets, and the occasional villain lair all recreate the colorful backdrop fans will immediately recognize. Gameplay is divided into exploration and combat sequences, alternating between the civilian lives of Marinette and Adrien and their superhero alter egos. As civilians, players explore a simplified version of Paris, interact with NPCs, and complete minor errands to progress the story. Once transformed into Ladybug or Cat Noir, the experience shifts to platforming and combat, with each hero using acrobatics and gadgets to fight enemies and traverse obstacles. The structure is straightforward: each mission involves defeating waves of enemies, solving simple puzzles, and confronting a boss at the end. Combat feels serviceable, consisting mostly of light and heavy attacks, dodges, and a few special abilities tied to the heroes’ iconic powers. While the mechanics function smoothly, they lack depth or complexity—battles can usually be won through basic button-mashing without requiring strategy or timing. Despite its simplicity, the game delivers moments of fun, particularly when it leans into the fast-paced teamwork between Ladybug and Cat Noir. Some missions allow players to switch between the two, using their distinct skills to solve environmental challenges or tackle enemies in creative ways. These sections hint at a more dynamic experience that could have elevated the game further if expanded upon. However, repetitive level design and predictable encounters limit the sense of excitement. The difficulty remains extremely forgiving throughout, clearly tuned for a younger demographic, which means older players or seasoned gamers will find little challenge here. Performance and polish are mixed. On PC and consoles, the game runs decently but suffers from occasional technical issues such as stuttering, inconsistent textures, and awkward camera angles. The fixed or semi-fixed camera sometimes makes platforming more frustrating than it should be, particularly when trying to line up jumps or attacks. Load times are reasonable, and the overall stability is acceptable, but it’s evident that the game’s budget constraints kept it from achieving a higher level of refinement. The interface and menus are clean and easy to navigate, ensuring accessibility for children, though some interactions feel underdeveloped or sluggish. The story, while light and episodic, captures the essence of the Miraculous series well enough. It follows a familiar arc—Hawk Moth unleashes a new supervillain, Ladybug and Cat Noir must team up to stop them, and the balance of Paris is restored—but it’s delivered with enough charm and humor to keep fans entertained. The writing stays true to the characters’ personalities, blending Marinette’s awkward optimism and Adrien’s quiet confidence with their heroic alter egos’ charisma. Fans of the show will enjoy seeing familiar faces, though those unfamiliar with the series might find the plot simplistic and the dialogue overly geared toward younger audiences. In terms of replay value, Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx doesn’t offer much beyond its main campaign. There are collectibles, unlockable upgrades, and a handful of side missions, but once the main story is complete, there’s little incentive to return. The game’s relatively short length—around five to seven hours—fits its target audience, but players expecting more substantial content may find it lacking. That said, for children or families looking for a cooperative or easygoing superhero experience, it succeeds as a wholesome and approachable introduction to the genre. Ultimately, Miraculous: Rise of the Sphinx is a modest but sincere effort to bring the beloved animated series into video game form. Its strengths lie in its faithfulness to the source material, accessible gameplay, and charming presentation, while its weaknesses stem from shallow mechanics, technical limitations, and lack of depth. It’s not a game designed to push boundaries or satisfy veteran action-platformer fans; instead, it aims to provide a colorful and enjoyable experience for younger players who want to step into the shoes of their favorite heroes. For its intended audience, it accomplishes that goal well enough, even if it never quite becomes the miraculous adventure it could have been. Rating: 5/10
