Mindlock - The Apartment

Ok to be honest, this game stayed in my wishlist for months before I decided to finally buy it because I was afraid of a depressing and claustrophobic experience (which is shown by the game trailer, cover and reviews by the way, this game is very badly advertised online). Then I decided to give it a go and was surprised by the quality of it: the music is good (the developer plays it himself), the drawings are good (hand drawn by the developer), localization is good and voice over is good...ok it is a one-man project but very well optimized and technologically advanced and you actually wonder how someone alone can create a full game like this. Behind closed doors of this appartement there is actually a STORY, A MESSAGE, and A PHILOSOPHY in this game which makes all the interest, so the guy is smart and go out of the box, which I was dreading. My review is after 6 chapters so HALF of it but I can already tell it is a good pick. The developer really reminds me of Daedelic Entertainment productions (Edna and Harvey) from their golden era...and it is a compliment. I really wish this guy can deliver more in the future and has not burnt out of producing alone a massive game like this...my final word is: this game is not easy to play so luckily there is 2 full guides online, one is german here on steam (which can be translated well towards english) and one directly in english. Use it, so you can focus on the story, skip the puzzle with a guide because they are not really rewarding...
