"A beautiful, low poly stylized, first-person exploration game centered around three things: interesting story, hard mazes and atmospheric music". Let's see deeper. In the first place, this game features 42 achievements that an be completed within 2 hours: there will be something like 20 easy puzzles and 6 levels, so in order to complete the game we'll just have to walk around through the worlds, find all the mazes and complete them - a portal will transport us in the next scenario. As there are topics in the discussion section of this game talking about the bad English this game offers - it's indie-developed in Russia - you may already get that you won't read something particularly beautiful, even if the game itself tells us it has a great story. Luckily, it seems that some text-related issues have been fixed in the English translation some months ago. Though, this small indie game has some issues. The graphical compartment is quite nice, as you can see in the screenshots, but the puzzles featured in the game (which I mentioned above, mandatory in order to go on) are.. quite crappy. They look unrelated to the world and its interactions, and they're basically all the same. You can try them as long as you want since there are no timers or penalties and the whole system is boring: we're talking about simple puzzles in which you'll have to collect some things, avoid other enemies and little else. The whole walking simulator works as a static wild world in which you'll have simply to walk between the puzzles. And the issue is that the world looks really good, but it's big and pointless to walk through. You can't even run, and in the levels you'll feel utterly bored by the time you'll need to reach every new puzzle. And the worlds are static, as I said, featuring nothing relevant to see after some minutes. Its price is quite low, but you'll be literally left on your own in this somehow beautiful world with the simple task of walking and solving easy 3D puzzles. And no, no guide is needed to finish the game within 2 hours. I wouldn't recommend it overall, even with the "new" English user-made translation.
Mind Portal –

A good walker for the evening. An interesting idea, somewhat reminiscent of Talos Principle, although of course far from this ideal. A living world, more content and better implemented mechanics would be generally good. And just so good. And I would lower the price tag a little bit, just a little bit.
Details

A thing of beauty... it reminds you of something... gameplay?
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1756676716 Hook You fall from darkness into an opulent, beautful world. You have no compass, no guide. You must find the puzzles and progress onward... trying to remember... stuff. Mechanic Progress through beautiful 3D worlds, activating portals by completing puzzle mini-games. Universe Walking Simulator: - the world looks amazing - the interaction with objects, all static, are fascinating - but pointless - WASD + mouse to navigate the world Puzzles: - similar controls, which are not as responsive as you would hope. - collect crystals, avoid red blobs, open and close doors, reach end - no timer, can retry as many times as you like. Both of these mechanics are ok, but WHY put them together? Would the game have been better if the puzzles were somehow in the 3D-gameworld itself? Or have the puzzles mini-games all clustered together and have the exploration bit almost as a cutscene to tell the story? Walking for minutes to reach the next familiar-looking puzzle mini-game shows a lack of game-design focus. A real shame, given how beautiful the world looks. Delivery - Beautiful, relaxing... - ...without signposting, this game is a trudge to find a goal in a static world.

Summary

Do you like walking? Oh good. Do you like puzzles? Fine. Would it be easier to forego one for the other? Certainly.
Pros: - beautiful world - really simple, child-friendly premise of safe-exploring and simple storytelling - pretty puzzles - interactive items across the world Cons: - the gameworld needs some form of HUD; some signposting! - some of the responses from things in the world are a little inappropriate - nothing you interact with means anything in solving the puzzles - the puzzles: controls are spongey and the levers need 2-3 taps to ensure theyare active https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1748249408

See also...
https://store.steampowered.com/app/461560
All boyflea reviews can be found at Good Indie Free Game Reviews
I really like the art style and the music. Gameplay is exploration with various cuts to a block maze/puzzle. The story is undercut by a few feeble attempts at social commentary. Still, pretty good, especially for the price. https://youtu.be/yTEXD8G1Nyo
I received a free copy via Curator Collect for review under the curator BluePaw's Underrated Games List. Was not directly contacted by the developer and/or publisher when offered this game to review. Was not offered compensation for writing this review. I was given a pre-release copy of this game to review and I am not impressed. I had to wait for the game to be released before I could write a full review. This is more of a client side issue, but I have to play this at a 640x480 resolution to get decent FPS due to having an (literal name) Intel HD Graphics graphics card. Widescreen was putting me at like <10 FPS, 4:3 put me higher than 10 and I could manage with that just fine. I also had to set the quality to low, again graphics card. I'm saying that because I don't know what it would be like for higher-grade machines graphics/performance wise, so you'll have to find someone else to get their thoughts on that, sorry. The appeal was impressive, but again don't take that to heart. The music loops alright, however it will overlaps whenever you alt-tab. This is essitentially a walking-simulator in low-poly. The low-poly I find interesting as I am able to tell what is what and what theme the level is. Forest, island, floting rocks, desert, underworld, etc. so I was impressed by that. However most of the levels are TOO big, like there's nothing to really to see between trips maze to maze (which you have to find with some guidance given; usually have to find landmarks or something that sticks out more than anything else and hope it's there as you work your way to them.) The distances from the mazes varies from level to level, but they feel like a mile regardless given how slow you move (and you can't sprint). One level, the final level, actually complimented the big size of the maps, however I was lost and struggle to find the 2nd to last maze. It was a desert city with somewhat access to roof tops but getting on a roof top was a struggle itself given how poor the controls are. The sensitivity on the camera is AWFUL. If you want to turn 90 degrees, it'll take like 2-3 swipes of the mouse to do that... painful to do a 180. There are (horrible) jokes, some hidden, that I'm not sure if a Let's Play youtuber can make it entertaining or find them funny. Some of the jokes are memes themselves, take that for what you will. The game would crash after every 3 mazes I "complited". When I start it up again, I find myself in a previous level and have to trek back to the level I was currently at, which in my case I was back in a barn in level 1 and had to trek back to level 2 or 3 (I had two crashes). Thankfully I don't need to redo any of the mazes and once I arrived at the level I was at prior to the crash, the game puts me where I finished the maze prior to the crash; however that doesn't even out the issue. (Note: Unsure if fixed in previous patches) The game has typos and grammar issues almost everywhere. I don't even need to point them out, they are not easy to miss! Usually it's not on the story but what you can (very limited) interact. As for the mazes themselves... they are a challenge, however whenever you hit a red orb or get teleported, any motion you had prior to that carries and risk throwing you off the level, requiring you to start all over. That's not a challenge, that's frustration, especially for levels that require very delicate movements. The dev did fix a few issues me and another person pointed out in the forums, so the updates the dev made, made the game a bit better, but not enough to give it a positive review. http://steamcommunity.com/app/772080/discussions/0/1621724915814486705/ ----- Check out more games I see that deserve more attention from my curator group: BluePaw's Underrated Games List Join and/or follow if you wish.
overall alright for in between.
