About
Mind Over Magic is a colony simulation game developed by Sparkypants and published by Klei Publishing.
Build and optimize a magic school while keeping powerful mages alive and inspired. Prepare them to explore the horrors of the Underschool, a deadly subterranean gauntlet. Study lost arcana, grow exotic plants, brew potions, and raise undead servants. But don’t forget to stop the deadly fog from consuming everything in its path.
Build the ultimate magic school, brick by brick. Design every room to fit your vision. Unlock new furniture, wallpaper, lighting, and decorations to personalize every detail. Experiment with layouts to discover hidden efficiency bonuses and create the perfect balance of design and function.
Beneath your school lies a mysterious labyrinth filled with dark secrets, deadly magic, and ghastly creatures. The deeper you explore, the greater the rewards—but danger doesn’t always stay underground.
Research and discover mystical beasts to serve your school and unlock powerful new resources. These creatures require food, affection, and magical care to grow into valuable allies, providing rare materials for crafting and construction.
If you're truly ambitious, tackle the challenge of raising a dragon to aid your school. Dragons demand specialized students to become caretakers, but in return, they grant your mages the ability to embark on daring quests beyond the school walls—uncovering secrets, gaining unique powers, and shaping the future of your academy.
Bend the arcane to your will. Practitioners of Dark magic animate undead helpers known as Quilted—specialized constructs that gather resources, tend to plants, repair damage to your school, and mine valuable materials.
Make the most of your day by reducing travel time in your ever-growing campus with the power of flight. Strategically place broom racks to make traversal a breeze.
Enhance your students abilities with powerful gear, such as potions, relics, and increasingly powerful wands, each granting distinct magical advantages. Customize their daily schedules and assign teachers to shape their magical growth.
Magic isn’t just for combat—what your students learn and the tools they wield also determine how effectively they contribute to your school’s daily operations. Build a curriculum that fosters the ability to both survive and thrive.
Shape the future of magic by customizing your students' education. Apprenticed students can multiclass to wield a diverse array of spells, or strive towards single discipline mastery to unlock devastating ultimate abilities, powerful enough to face the dangers of the Nexus.
Reality is tenuous in the Nexus, a fractured realm of pure magic deep beneath the school. Your mages will need every advantage to battle powerful enemies, reconstitute its crumbling fragments, and break the curse for good. Train wisely, for only the most skilled mages can withstand the challenges that await beyond the veil.

Fun colony sim (Rimworld-esque, though not quite as deep, but still not simplistic either), where you have to run and build up a magic school. The usual colony sim features that you will be used to are here, but it has enough extra bits to differentiate it from the usual carbon copies. It has a different take to combat, utilizing a turn-based approach, that certainly adds a little to it's unique charm). If you like colony sims give it a try, i'm enjoying it, maybe you will too.

Nice relaxing game with wonky building.
ну на недельку поиграть норм
Неплохой симулятор. Построй свой Хогвартс. Хотелось бы дальнейшего развития
A very nice relaxing game.
Fun little Magic school simulator. The different building restrictions types and inclusion of the random option means your forced to adapt your school layout each play through depending on the traits the rooms require. There is also a lot of combinations you can do with mages and their elements to develop different battle strategies as well as enemies with resistances and weaknesses so taking the same team out for every combat can make some fights more difficult if they encounter something that has resistances to their attacks. As for progress in the game one thing to keep in mind is that it's a "school". You are suppose to have a high turn over rate with students graduating and getting replaced by new students. Also as you get relics and unlock better wands it gets easier to get higher level students/teachers/relics. I've played since the very Early Access and seen the game go through a lot of changes. One of the negatives I sometimes hear about end game is regarding the Dragons and Quest line. This was added near release and while it is passible I think some people misunderstand it's use. Sure some quest can raise levels on mages/relics or add other cool benefits it's there as just sort of an option to give a mild boost or sure up a weakness as some quest can only be taken by those low in that skill. The length of the quest and hassle is a min/max nightmare which I think is why some complain. But really it's just a side mechanic that isn't that important and can be easily ignored as I do most of the time just sending whoever is available as it's intentionally made long to prevent abuse of people trying to use quest to min/max. The real end game in my opinion is the endless halls at the bottom of the dungeon. You have to complete several battles in a time limit with each one harder than the last. This is a great source of shards which are in large demand and better than having to destroy your relics to get. As well as you can farm the Max Level Relics very easily down there. But before end game the best way to get shards and top tier relics is to train and graduate students with all their Trails completed. Then promote them to Teachers and once their level are maxed retire the Teacher of more shards/relics. Combat is the fastest way to level which is why the endless dungeon addition at the end is so great since not only does it have great loot but gives a reliable training location. If you don't care about combat challenge you can turn all the combat settings way down and just build a nice casual school. There are plenty of automation tools as I like setting up groups and schedules that allow most of my students to automatically complete their trails. As well as placing containers with item restrictions and high priority near production stations. It makes a huge difference in a large well maintained school. Like making sure food ingrediants are put in kitchen can mean the difference between school starving because cook can't make enough food spending all his time walking to get supplies vs having overflowing pantries because he steps two feet over to get supplies and start cooking the next meal. Same with food being stored in the dining hall to save on eating time. And other things like potion crafting, wand crafting, and etc.
