Good game
It's truly a masterpiece. But certain elements really bugged me: 1) Having to view the map/area completion from the underlab (bonfire) is tedious, especially when you only get an overworld map. 2) While the game offers multiple modes of fast travel, in context they don't seem that useful when you're backtracking for collectibles/quests given their infrequency and also the obscurity of certain hidden items. 3) Both the combat and platforming feel fantastic until they don't (usually when bosses/enemies can quickly close distance or when the game dabbles in precision platforming). 4) Speaking of platforming, respawning at the beginning of a platforming section when you've reached a safe platform halfway through it feels terrible. 5) I mostly found the standard difficulty appropriate and generally expect games like this to have a late-game spike. However, the auto-scrolling section kind of sucked. Sure, I swapped my trinkets; I get it. But it still kind of sucked, as did having to fight the same elite enemies beforehand each attempt. Apart from all that and some other nitpicks, it's great and I recommend it, particularly if you're into challenging retro games.

Mina is so cool! I wish mice were real.
Es muy bueno, comprenlo.
Fantastic modern take on the Gameboy Zeldas with a bit of soulslike + Metroidvania + Shovel Knight elements thrown into the mix. Easy slam dunk for fans of any of these
really pure fun and great game. it has a distinct retro feel but with the modern mechanic twist that you just didnt see in similar games in the past. the closest thing I can compare this to is zelda links awakening but with a faster paced and more satisfying movement and combat system. lots of great things to like here

2026 Mina. The cover? Strong. Fierce. Strikes her foes fast as lightning. The actual game? 8-Bit GLORY. 🙌 In all seriousness damn what a great game! Yacht Club hit a homerun with this one as usual. Great music, characters, levels... you name it! My only real complaint is Mina felt a little lacking in terms of dialogue. I wanted to hear what this goober of a mouse had to say. That being said I'll absolutely be picking this up physically on Switch 2 when that comes out for future portable playthroughs cuz DANG what an amazing game. Okay short queen. 👏
I don't think I can write a review that will do this game justice, but I really enjoyed it Governments of the world: please send yacht club games 300 billion dollars to make a sequel RIGHT NOWWWW
