Yacht Club Games has made two of my favorite homages to classic games, this being no exception. While clearly a love letter to Link's Awakening, this game goes well beyond recreating that game and instead hues its own mechanics and identity. Shovel Knight is incredible and always felt challenging yet fair, and this game mostly sticks to that notion. Like others have mentioned, the difficulty up front can be daunting, lack of certain things like a proper map are missed, and the game can teeter on frustratingly punitive at times (especially when it comes to pits). All that said, I'm very glad for the time I had with this game, and recommend it to folks.
Zerei o jogo agora com 29h , o jogo é simplesmente absurdo, é um daqueles jogos que te prende e dá vontade de explorar e pegar mais itens. Fazia tempo que nenhum jogo me prendia, e esse conseguiu.
I mean something wild would have to happen for my score to change. This game feels incredible to play. Every challenge feels fair and fun. There’s been no real point where i’ve felt like a run back has been obnoxious because there’s always a legitimate gain. The leveling system is super simple but rewarding. The weapons all feel unique and important. Secrets are EVERYWHERE and this little island is DENSE. This is what I was hoping Silksong would be, and I hope that Mina gains as much love over time has shovel knight has because it really deserves it. I’ll update when I complete it but at this point I’m thinking this is my GOTY
I love games that I can smash my head into walls and actually find stuff. Perpetual sidequesting if you will. I have played a few zelda games, but important for this review, link's awakening. Right before buying and playing this game, I played link's awakening for the first time, and it was pretty decent, good for scratching that side quest itch. This game does that but over 10x better. Unlike most games that I play, I went in completely blind, and had such a great time with it. The music suits the art style perfectly, the game isn't overly in your face about the story and just lets you go explore. Speaking of exploration, the movement and combat flow so seamlessly together you can tell the developers put a lot of time and effort into it. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE that there are multiple different weapon choices, as well as many trinkets that you can use to vary your playstyle. Highly replayable, and very fun!
Yacht Club Games makes another incredible game, equal parts great homage to the Game Boy Zelda games, Castlevania series, and the Souls series, as well as simply a lovely experience that stands up on its own regardless of inspiration or reference. Please play it!
Outstanding!

Just good classic fun. Each section felt hand-crafted and very creatively designed throughout, I am very eager for a sequel if we ever get one. My only nitpick is that keys unlock doors automatically (sorry Lark)
Si te gustó Tunic, Mina The Hollower te va a encantar
