A grizzled private eye in a sci-fi adventure takes a murder case no one else will touch. He’s seen it all before, but nothing’s prepared him for a conspiracy that leads off-world. Something big is about to happen. Whatever it is... it goes live at midnight.
The top lawyer of showbiz is shot dead, and that’s where private eye Simm Gurnett steps in. Something’s rancid big time, so much so that even the police won’t touch the case. And for good reason: the killer is rumored to be not of this world.

This is REALLY easy and very short. About 3 hours. I purchased it due to it's interesting graphic style and I love the detective spin in point n clicks. Some interactions felt out of place and rather cringey. It has good writing and voice acting. But for a point n click game, I can't recommend it, as the puzzles are virtually non-exsistent.
Like the other output from Cosmic Void, this is a fun point-and-click adventure, especially for this price. It's a good length, there are some fun characters and puzzles and it's fully voice acted. Only the resolution of the story was a little disappointing. Still an absolute recommendation if well crafted p&c games are your thing.
ths game doesn't lack quality but sadly totaly fail on what is for me the main focus of a investigation point'n click : the writing (story telling and dialogue) is terrible ,clumsy ,clichet .The dialogs often feel artificial, random either to advance the story or for exposition.I cannot recommend to buy this game. Too bad it has good points pretty pixel art, decent full voice acting, and the idea of the scenario was good
An atmospheric and interesting adventure game, short and enjoyable with a lovely atmospheric score. A big rough around the edges, some scenes feel abrupt and the crystal puzzle could be more clear. Otherwise an enjoyable experience.
While I will be open about the fact that I voiced Cyan in this game and received it for free, that does nothing to sway my views, and if I didn't like Midnight Saturn, I'd be truthful about it. Thankfully, I have nothing to worry about. Cosmic Void is great at creating fascinating worlds in a classic pixel art style and letting the characters in it live and breathe, and this game is no different. While it is a bit brief, it's also damn affordable and I'd prefer a game that tells its story the right way rather than overstaying its welcome by making me walk in circles or hide behind unnecessarily complex puzzles. It's a very cool experience and I'm proud to have been a part of it. And since comments aren't open on it, I'll just comment here on the one bad review for the game that exists currently. I have no idea what that person thought they were playing, complaining about too much dialogue and a puzzle they didn't feel like figuring out. Does this person even like adventure games? What were they doing playing this? And they even made sure to get a refund, which is not a practice I believe in for indie devs. Sure, get your money back from EA or Bethesda, but if it's a single developer making art from scratch, whether you like it or not, they deserve that little bit of coin just out of respect for the craft. Maybe I'm just a bit too passionate, but ah well. Just rubbed me the wrong way.
Bad puzzles, bad writing. It starts off questionable when our Protagonist Simms mentions his medium friend... Why would a PI (in a pseudo-feature setting no less) believe mediums are real? Well, at least that is warranted, as we do get hard proof that spirits are real... or do we? Anyway, we puzzle our way through town, and by "puzzle" I mean "throw random ♥♥♥♥ into the crocodile lake" until they burb up the exact items we need to progress our case. We do that not once, or twice, no! Four times we do that. My standards aren't that high - sure, that's a puzzle to fill space, I'll go with it. But if you go after the third time "♥♥♥♥, we have another item... quick, pixel another croc!" this is just ridicules. Other puzzles aren't much better. We really channel 90ies point'n'click energy with the randomness of the interactions. Why are there crystals in the hideout? There is electricity, but no door? Wash a chew toy in the sink? - no better blast it in the microwave - Christ, I can only imagine the smell! The people act weirdly as well. Somehow every woman flirts with Simms. He even gets a date - good for him - but also makes advances with the medium Zora. He gives her a gift and explicitly tells her, he only ever dated 3 women. That can't be true! Dude, you will see another woman this week. If this game was well written, I would be quite certain Simms is a liar. All the adventures he supposedly had? Going to far away systems to track someone down? Isn't he too young for all that? Oh, and the scene at the cliffs:
Why the hell is that alien spooked by the Gemini butterfly? Yeah, they are big, but they are harvested there! And it's a Butterfly. This doesn't make any sense.
When we hand Zoey the old game controller, she goes "People playing games by pressing buttons?! This is a proper old artifact!" - yeah... what are the guys in the arcade playing at? These Machines have joysticks and buttons, don't they? In fact, except for the one flying robot, this could be the 80s. The highest technology we actually use ourself is a satellite dish (with an implant apparently, fine)... People drop names of off world places and planets like the artist and writer never spoke during development.
Prolific game developer Cosmic Void delivered a new title once again! In his signature style, "Midnight Saturn" looks, sounds and feels very similar to his previous detective puzzler, "Neon Hearts City", but I'm happy to see it's very much its own thing. I have to admit, I was a little bit afraid it would be too much of a clone... This time you play as Simm, a PI put on a murder case by the victim's sister. She wants you to find her niece Lucy, the victim's daughter, certain she has to know something more about her father's murder. And of course, as is often the case in Cosmic Void games, there's a medium named Zora who can communicate with the dead. Just bring her something of their belongings, and she can make them speak and deliver cryptic clues as to what to do next. You travel all across town to a handful of locations, with very helpful people in each one. Simm seems to know them all already, and addresses them by their first name. And I hadn't been playing for fifteen minutes or three different women had already hit on him, as well. You also visit the nearby forest and lake. The lake is home to crocodiles, but interesting items may be found in the bellies of these creatures, so it's your job to find a way for them to, well, spill their guts, I guess... "Midnight Saturn" if fully voiced, and done so excellently. The performances make the detective noir writing shine, which is getting better and better in these Cosmic Void games. Rowdy York once more takes on the lead, though, which makes it difficult to distinguish this detective from the one in "Neon Hearts City". Perhaps it would have been better to have completely gone with the same character, and create a franchise? I finished the game in two hours and fifteen minutes, which gives "Midnight Saturn" a similar length as "Neon Hearts City". There were a couple of 'break the code' puzzles, but they were far easier to figure out than similar puzzles in previous Cosmic Void games, so they were fun diversions. Only one inventory puzzle I had to solve by using everything on everything. The problem was that when I picked up the item to use in question, it looked far too big to fit in the place where I was supposed to put it, so that sent me astray for a while. I had fun playing this game. It was easy yet interesting, perfect if you have just a couple of hours to spare, or to take a breather between more bulky games. Cosmic Void writes cool sci-fi stories. This one wasn't all too sci-fi-ish, with not that many (an)droids or technological gadgets. There are aliens, of course, and the typical paranormal stuff with the psychic. I do keep hoping for a longer experience, but these short games are very much his signature style, so I'm very curious to see what else he has up his sleeve. https://the-point-n-clicker.blogspot.com/2026/05/new-game-midnight-saturn-playthrough.html
I like it a lot so far. Normally I'm not a point and click person but this really hooked me. Highly recommend
