1800s Ghost Rider Vs the Republicans: The Lincolning~ Full disclosure: I got this game for free in a random drawing on a giveaway site. Prior to writing this review, I am unaware of having had contact with anyone involved in the making of this game, and I have not been asked to write a review for it. The game before this one, which revolved around Edgar Allen Poe, was atrocious in my opinion. It was nothing but hidden object scenes, one right after the other, ad nauseum. Very rarely, you might get a puzzle segment, but the adventure game "style" of using items you obtain to progress in the world was unheard of in that game. I'm impressed with just how much this series advanced just one game later. In any case, this game has oodles of the adventure game "style" portions to it. In fact, they make up the majority of this game. That's what I get a kick out of in HOGs (Hidden Object Games): that adventure game item-usage in the world, but at a rapid, break-neck pace that gives instant gratification out the wazoo. There's plenty of that here. The other aspect of the game that I loved was all of the Lincoln stuff. For some reason, it just cracked me up helping Lincoln's ghost throughout the game, and they played it serious from one end to the other. It was unintentionally comical, to me, at least. The bonus chapter had more good goofy Lincoln/Jesse James antics, but gameplay-wise, the bonus chapter was worse than most other HOGs I've played. I probably spent an hour or less on the bonus segment, though, so I don't care all that much. In any case, if you want a decently made HOG with a played-serious Lincoln ghost floating around while Jesse James pretends he's an olde timey Ghost Rider wannabe, then you can't go wrong with this game. And apparently Jesse James is a witch. That is all.~

Great hog game, beautiful visuals, decent puzzles and not bad story, pretty good.
