Memori is a 2d precision platformer which many people will refer as a celeste clone, but i believe it has enough difference to stand out as its own. To list a few different thing than celeste, portals, time switch, ventilator, the big rock moving in a straight line, and the most different thing, the twilight mode in chapter 5 The early access currently contain 6 chapter with around 400 rooms+? and 75 ish collectable to get. The game is pretty hard but there are a few assist mode to help you if you require so. There are a few bugs here and there [strike]but the dev is active on discord and i'm sure he will fix them soon, as he fixed a lots of bug on the same day during the playtest[/strike] Dev had to get a job so no news since september I got the key from backing the kickstarter and have around 20 hours speedrunning the playtest due to that, and i'm hyped to see what the game will get during the early access, like cosmetics, workshop support, and more?
Memori obviously takes a decent amount of inspiration from Celeste, but that's not a bad thing - The gameplay is sharp and responsive, the level design is tight but fair, and overall the game is really fun to play. At the time of this review the game is in early access, there are some rough corners: weird translations, misplaced effects, broken skins - but nothing that will prevent you from heaving fun throughout the game. If you liked celeste and you don't mind tiny imperfections, I think you'll have a great time with Memori
I bought this in Early Access, but what I've played through so far has been really satisfying and polished. Pulled the trigger on buying the game initially because it was reminiscent of Celeste, but after playing it a bit, it definitely has its own unique identity and vibe. Still have a few chapters to work through, but definitely a solid recommend from me so far!
Game released a few hours ago for me, and it's absolutely worth it already even if its earlier version. It plays very well and has some mechanics/gimmicks of its own. It took me a couple of hours to beat the first 2 chapters with a reasonbale amount of deaths, there's a third one I barely started, there could be more. I enjoyed the fact that levels are not just straight increasingly difficult : you have some difficulty spikes, follow by one or two screens which are bit less demanding to have a little break and that encourages you to keep on going :) It still needs improvements, regarding music/sfx in particular, as well as a bit of menu polishing, but it's a great start already :)
Memori is a beautiful experience. Visually stunning for a pixel game (you're going to have to teach me some of your shader magic). Difficult, but rewarding. I plan on spending a significant amount of time attempting to get better and getting all the secrets. One major benefit is that the developer is easily reached and listen to user feedback. They are invested in making this game and want to make sure that you enjoy it too. Cheers!
As someone who doesn’t usually play precision platformers, Memori was a tough but rewarding experience. Every level demands focus, but the tight controls and smart design make the challenge feel fair.
Very good level of difficulty. There's nothing quite like the enjoyment you feel when you make it past a room that you spent 100 attempts on and have thoroughly exhausted your vocabulary of swear words. I haven't seen anything that felt unfair either. Every failure was due to me not getting the timing or directions down, which makes the successes feel like real accomplishments. If this type of game appeals to you, then you'll love this. Mechanics are solid, movement and controls feel good, lots of content in the early access already, and no game braking bugs that I've seen. Looking forward to working my way through it and seeing what gets added over time.
fun game overall, needs a bit of tweaking but is still a very positive experience! was happy to see this game being released after so much time in development, with a tiny bit of tweaking and gameplay polishing, it could reach a much higher level, you can feel it is still in early access but was worth every penny imo,
It's a really great Celeste-like game if you're into that! It's a bit harder then Celeste but overall a solid 9/10. :)
I think the first 2–3 chapters should be a bit easier, and the controls could be tighter, but overall it's a good experience. Definitely has potential to cook in Early Access. :)
