About
The Year is 2082. You take the role of Bill, a grizzled former trucker turned robojockey. In a world where resources are scarce, Bill owns a mining claim for Fluxiam-7, which is used to provide many of the energy needs for the late 21st century. TorxCorp, who owns a nearby Quarry has it's eye on Bill's claim, and has decided to steal Bill's treasured figurines he keeps on the dash of his mekk, and also kidnapped his girlfriend Beth. With the help of Bill's friend Rusty, it's up to you to take the reigns of Bill's mekk and get those figurines back! Also Beth too if it isn't too much of a hassle.

Relive the glory days of the good old days with this first-person mech take on the classic Boomer Shooter gameplay. The in-cockpit view gives the retro 16-bit FPS feel a whole new twist.
Moving around in your sluggish Mekk feels surprisingly smooth, Bill has truly mastered the giant robot’s controls like no other. And his weapons pack a punch! Make Swiss cheese of the enemies with bullets from afar or get up-close and personal with your dual saws.
Bill is a grizzled, and extremely hairy middle-aged man who doesn’t take shit from anyone. Torxcorp is going to get a 2-ton foot, straight up their ass for trying to take what is his.
Discover a secret area in each level to get back your limited edition dash figurines, or even more cockpit trash! Spruce up your cockpit and watch them shake & sway along with the action.

A case of being a cool idea with a bad execution. After a few levels in you start to realise that the whole game will be the same thing over and over. Just 4 hours of boring shooting through boring levels for a lackluster ending cutscene that uses horrific AI models. The game uses a checkpoint system instead of quick saves and when you die and restart from a checkpoint all the enemies you killed respawn making it just a slog. It's a real shame because I really liked the concept and thought the whole HUD being the cockpit of the mech to be really cool looking. Really disappointing.
Neat concept, but it's nothing but AI generated assets. Didn't realize that until playing it unfortunately. I wouldn't pay more than like $2.50 for it. Definitely not worth $15 (or even $7.50 on sale). It's alright. Challenging but repetitive.
Guy makes a game, spends many years doing it, is very direct about the usage of AI, and gets negative review bombed. I get it, I get it. "Save the Artists" is a very good clause. Just not sure why their ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on us artists. Anyways, this review bombing is wrong, and not what we should be doing. We give Microsoft, Amazon and Others free reign to create and use this technology, but we can't use it ourselves to do something new and cool.
I'll admit I bought this because I saw it was being review bombed and wanted to see what the fuss was about- Guys its actually good, like I started playing it and was shocked by how fun it is. Sure the art is AI, but its not bad, and art can always be replaced. The core game loop is good, and the game just needs a little love. Maybe instead of being ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and review bombing like a bunch of digital vegans, help the dev make this succeed because I could totally a real future for this game. I loved the little voice lines. Some stuff to improve: The ui is cool, but its too clunky. It would be a lot nicer to have more vision and less frame. Item pickup area feels a little too small. A minimap would be nice, I got lost a couple times. Note to steam: Please obliterate the review bombs. This is a charming and fun little game, and its true to the previews, honestly even better than the previews. The AI label is clear, and all the people buying it knew what they were getting. Clear abuse of the review system.
for my missfortune it is not a great game, though love has been clearly put in. my faults for the negative review are sub par voice acting, overlapping audio, the 1st map having a untextured gap. the game play is very doom like and is not bad nor really good. the gameplay makes you feel like you are piloting a fairly human mobility mech while the hud makes you feel like you are sitting in a slugish walker. will probable not finish the game but not refund it.
I think this is a fun indie game with a cool atmosphere that is definitely a love letter to games like Doom and Duke Nukem, which were some of my favorite games in the '90s. I enjoy the dash attack, which lets you quickly close distance to an enemy and buzz-saw them to death. This game has traditional movement but also the ability to dash left, right, and forward as well, giving you lots of mobility. [strike]The biggest con I have so far is the controller support is mediocre at best. There's no way to adjust aim sensitivity (and the aim is WAY too sensitive by default), I wasn't able to do all the menuing via controller, and for some reason the dash left (X on the controller) didn't work, although dash right (B) did. I guess KBM is much more traditional anyway, as that is how I was playing Doom in the 1990s.[/strike] Edit: Disregard the previous paragraph. My issue with the controller button turned out to be Steam Input - if I disable if for this game, all buttons work as expected. Oddly, with steam input on, the X button doesn't work. I have a FlyDigi Vader 3 (which is basically an xbox controller with extra buttons). I'd still recommend a mouse for the menuing (which is basically only needed to start or continue the game). As the developer response indicates, mouse sensitivity will change joystick sensitivity too, and I was able to get the controller to work very comfortably in this game after that advice.
If you like Necrodome and Descent you'll like this game. With so many bad games out there this one feels like a breath of fresh air.
Yea nah I can't recommend it. Everything feel sloppily slapped together and then used Ai as a band aid which resulted in the most inconsistent pixel art and textures I've ever seen in a long time and super generic stock boomer rock music. In fact some textures clearly generated wrong cause I could see through some level geometry at the right angle without trying! Ignoring the Ai debacle, everything feels wrong. The guns don't feel right, the mechas barely feel like heavy machines due to the lack of sound designs and weight. The levels that I played weren't much to ride home about, could get better later on I guess but when everything else felt sloppy, I'm not motivated to push through to find out. Wanted to give this the benefit of the doubt as it is made by like one person but nah. It's a shame too because this is a killer idea but it's clear the developer either bit more than they could chew or didn't care enough.
For a solo dev's first game it's really damn good. Fast paced shooting, bit of enemy verity, loads of different guns, what's not to like. The levels can get pretty maze like but I never got lost, and a every level has something that makes it unique, whether it be jumping down a big ventilation shaft into an ambush, or a quarry to fight your way round there's always something. As for all the accusations about this being "AI generated slop" it seems to me there are a lot of morons out there that seem to think you can just go to ChatGPT and type "Make mek boomer shooter game" and it spits out a complete game. Having built tons of prototypes and basic games in Unity, Unreal, Godot and GM Studio it's clear to me that loads of time and effort has been poured over this. Little touches like the garbage moving around in your cab, and cameras showing the rear view out of your mek clearly show this wasn't some half axxxed throw away cash grab. Doe's it need a bit more polish...yeh, I think it probably does. But like I said, Solo Dev, First released game. There's loads of garbage cash grabs on here that do need calling out. This is not one of them. All in all, it's a lot of fun, plays well and the dude should be rightly proud of it.
This was very fun, seems to be inspired by Doom and Duke Nukem
