Temple of Sokoban
Ein kleiner Vorabend-Rätsel-Snack gefällig? Temple of Xiala von Indieentwickler Hannes Delbeke schien dafür geeignet. Geschichte? Fehlanzeige („explore ancient civilization“: Selten so gelacht). Hintergrundmusik? Brummende Eintoneinsätze. Billig? Ja. Achievements?
overall good for in between. can recommend it.
Very enjoyable puzzle game that has a load of charm. While there aren't too many puzzles and the game takes less than an hour to complete if you are good at puzzles, I really enjoyed this game. The game is definitely abandoned and will not see more levels or anything of the such. If you got this game through humble bundle or some other means, give it a play. Otherwise, do not buy.
it looks like they reduced the price of this game from $5 to $1.99. This makes a big difference as I beat this game in less than 45 minutes without even trying. To me, the big con of this game is there's no ending. I can't tell if the explorer is trying to get to the heart of the temple or if he's trying to leave. However, while a story is nice, it's not essential. Ultimately it comes down to the puzzles. And yes, the puzzles are fun. I would even venture to say they're 1.99 fun. BUT! The puzzles are a bit simplistic. Also, the lower price point is discouraging as it seems to indicate that there will be no further development of this game. It is what it is, take it or leave it. All in all, this is disappointing as this game has potential to be one of the better moving block puzzles out there. To be honest, I'm torn about the game as it is and the game as it could be. Ultimately, I have to rate the game as it is, and the lower price doesn't give much hope that there will be further development. I STILL will be recommending the game despite the lack of story, lack of ending (you just finish the last puzzle, there's no indication the game is done) and rather simplistic game play because *I* feel (and yes, this is a judgement call here, take this review with a grain of salt) this game is still worth the 1.99 asking price. Lord knows I've paid more for less on Steam. I do hold out hope that if this game starts to make some money the developer will give this game the attention it rightly deserves. Oh, and it does say that the interface is only in English, but really it's like 4 options, (I think: Continue, Restart, Level Select, and Quit). Realistically, you can read any language in the world and figure out the menu for this game.
Neat, short block-moving puzzle game
Slight exception to my non-early-access policy, Temple of Xiala might be abandoned as the developer has not given any news since early 2019. However, what is there is quite neat. It's 21 levels, where you move blocks to make a path or open doors for the little graverobber. You have limited number of moves, and it looks like each level has a single unique solution (I couldn't find any alternate ones anyway). There's a couple of special mechanics, like multiple block systems with mirrored controls (so essentially just a linked puzzle), and blocks that are confined to certain paths. The puzzles are surprisingly nice brainteasers, the last one taking me some 20 minutes (plus some AFK time) to complete.
Short but unpolished
It lasted about 30 minutes, plus that short AFK time. All achievements (for level completions) worked fine. There's a completion guide for the impatient ones that would reduce it to sub-10-minute game. For me, only fullscreen mode worked, and the options are very limited. There's a separate level selection screen at least. Controls are just arrows/WASD and back/space (or clicking the button) for rewinding moves. There isn't even a proper game completion screen, so it's clearly unfinished, without story nor other fluff. Otherwise, I observed no bugs. I played it on Win10. It's a shame that it's stuck in Early Access status, when it's merely missing a victory screen and some basic graphical and sound/music options, and maybe controller support. Personally, I'd only wish more levels. Consider it as complete as it'll be, and get it on sale. ~Twistorian Curator~
移動方塊的益智遊戲
共21關 透過WASD來移動方塊 移動的同時所有方塊會同時移動 目標要在指定步數內 讓所有指定位置都有方塊 能夠倒回到上一步
There are a lot of negative reviews for Temple of Xiala because of how short this game is, and I do agree with the fact that it was an unexpectedly short game. I didn't even realize that I'd finished until I was waiting for about 10 seconds for the next level and it just simply didn't start. It was.. mildly disappointing. That being said, this game has cute animation, fun sounds and colors, and for being a casual puzzle game I think that the puzzles are challenging enough to keep me interested without making me frustrated (which is what a casual puzzle game should be). Also, it should be noted that it does say in the game description that there are 20 levels. For $2 it's not terrible, but I would recommend getting it on sale due to the fact that it only took me about 23 minutes to complete.
It's just 21 levels with 3 different mechanics and then it abruptly ends. This feels more like a proof of concept or a demo.
