Discounts
Every price cut of more than 20% we have observed, in each market that quoted one, with this game's chart position on either side of it. These are episodes, not a model: a sale is one event, and one event cannot tell you what the next one will do.
Reviews, worldwide (the counter carries no country): 10.56/day in the week to Aug 4 → 9.43/day in the week after.
For scale, across Steam · Top Sellers · Brazil over the last 30 days: the 22 chart moves that followed a price cut of more than 20% went a median of 9 places towards #1, and the 2,513 moves with no price cut behind them went 2 away. One store, one chart, one country — it is the only place we have enough observations to say even that.
Prices outside the United States have been collected since 6 August 2026 and chart positions since 19 July 2026, so a cut older than that has no market to compare and a market that joined later has no history yet. Nothing here is converted between currencies.

Just got the game. Doing career in co op with a friend, doing all the DLC missions in order after starting in year 3015 as one of the base houses. The game is hella fun, the OG franchise of mech games. I'm 60 hours in and I'll be getting many more. After this vanilla run, we'll be doing YAML mod. Can't recommend this game enough.

Gimma that big fat PPC baby
I'm really into mech combat games, big open worlds, management, etc... This game *should* be right up my alley. And to a degree, it is. It feels really good to just build a mech you really like and play Co-Op with your friends. But...and there are a *lot* of buts...there are so many small things wrong with the game. For starters, without the DLCs, the mission design is incredibly lackluster. "Go there, destroy buildings", "Go there, defend buildings", "Go there, destroy enemy mech" - that's 90% of missions in the base game. The companion AI is terrible. Straight up terrible. If you can, play with at least one friend, but better yet two or three. The progression also feels terrible. At a certain point, a few hours in, you will feel like you are just going through the motions, scouring the black market in hopes of finding ANYTHING you could put in your mech. So many mechs are kept behind a timelock, and so you will spend a lot of time finding the same Spiders, Urbanmechs and Shadowhawks. My biggest contrast is Mechwarrior: Online, where it's way easier to get the mech that I want, and build towards the design that I like. In M5, it feel way more like I'm just hoping to finally get the mech that I want, let alone the variant that I seek. All in all, the game *is* a lot of fun, but there are so many caveats that keep it from being great.
This game isn't without issues. The randomized missions veer between whacky and unbalanced. The AI for both allies and enemies is astoundingly dumb. You kind of need the DLC to get the full experience. And personally I didn't find the whole "management" aspect of the game fun, more like bookwork. BUT, if you enjoy big stompy mechs? Doubly so if you enjoy the battletech universe? It's kind of hard to say no to this game. The moment to moment gameplay is fun, and when the DLC DO kick in on the main game, they are the best content in this package. From starting off with a tiny broken mech to facing off against the clans, this game is just a good fun time even with its frustrations. Solid 8/10 for me. Would be vaporized halfway across the map by a clan mech again.
Nice.
mechwarrior 5 is an interesting case of a game that started off pretty bad but really came around over the years turning into probably the best mechwarrior/battletech game currently. Alot of this has to do with the various expansions released and fixes made to the game such as the one where tanks cant just one shot an assualt mech..... Yeah they were craaazzzy back in the day. The expansions added tons of new mechs and one of which even adapted the clan wars storyline from the novels and pushed the main timeline from the very beggining to pretty well where mechwarrior 4 begins. Best part about all of this? They lowered the vanilla games price down to 38 bucks, sure the expansions are around the same price but now you dont have to pay full price for the first chunk of the game which is huge I might add 50 hour min. Sure its not cyberpunk levels of turnaround but its certainly enough to give it a shot, try this one out especially if your a battletech/mechwarrior fan its an absolute blast in 2026!
MW5:M is an enjoyable entry in the series for me, a veteran since the 1993 SNES release of MW1. Set up your mercenary group, take contracts on, raise your reputation, manage your mercs, tweak your 'mechs, paint your 'mechs, & conquer the galaxy. The game has various control layouts, with traditional vehicular (tank/ship), & contemprary on-foot (Call of Duty) style controls. I recommend you have a look at the control settings, & try them out as there are many ways to change how to control your 'mechs, & getting it to feel how you prefer may take a while. Technical Performance: I had to change various settings to get the game playable without screen tearing on my Valve Steam Machine (VSM), I hope they do a recommended settings post, or make a settings preset for the VSM soon.
"Look at the bright side kid, you get to keep all the money."
I like this game. It's not perfect. But I have a lot of fun with it
