this game is fire
So while this is a recommend from me, I'm also going to throw in a disclaimer; in my personal experience this game is a bit iffy whenever I wanted to play version 2.0 (no issues with 1.53) ; basically being a coin flip between getting to the main menu or just crashing right before then. But once I make it to the game proper, everything's fine. I was able to play it through to the end without any technical issues. Trying to quit to desktop always seems to result in a crash though. Despite that, Mecha Ritz: Steel Rondo is great shmup. The variety in shot types, the stylized and colorful graphics and the satisfying sound effects paired with the FM soundtrack, all wonderful. I really like the rank system, it starts at 0 at the easiest and well over 200 at the hardest. Things can quickly get out of hand the longer you go without taking hit so that becomes its own thrill. Hard to go wrong with branching paths in a genre like this, nice way to mix things up. Survival isn't too bad, actually. You only lose a life once you take a hit without any shields which are generous enough and of course there are bombs too. So you can make it pretty far even if this game has no continues to rely on. I do wish HEY would do a little more bug-fixing for this game; apparently other people have had different issues beyond what I've experienced. But both that and discount for this game are probably unlikely at this point. P.S. There are some other options at the bottom of the key config menu, including the fullscreen toggle.
This game is sick. Sick music, great game play, weird story.
Lot's of ships, branching level paths and a stupid story. Jack the rank up and there's some real fun to be had here. SFX are umm.. interesting and getting a sweet spot always makes me feel like I'm getting hit. Loads of shields and bombs makes it an easy 1CC, but enjoyed the ships enough to come back to it.
Amazing. Scoring system is unique, as are the graphics. Soundtrack reminds me of megadrive shooters I cut my teeth on growing up. Gameplay is fast and smooth, just feels amazing to play. The feel of this game combined with the extra ships you can unlock just adds to the replay value. Runs great on Steam Deck, adding even more replay value for quick runs on the go. A must buy and one of my favorite indie shumps.
ランクによる動的な難易度調整が絶妙でSTGが上手くなくともスリリングな体験を楽しむことが出来てとても良いです
Outstanding shmup in pretty much all aspects, except for the difficulty. This game is kinda too easy.
Einer meiner Lieblings STG / SHMUPS auf der Switch. Erst recht mit dem 2.0 Update. -Old Skool Zwo Button Kombo aus Tab & Hold Mechanik plus DA' Bomb -präzise Kontrolle. (mit HORI Switch Real Arcade Pro V Hayabusa) -Anfängerfreundlich. -Reflex SHMUP mit vielen Mini & End-Bossen. -Klares Sichtfeld, keine verdeckten Bullets. -Großzügiger Schild & Bomben Nachschub. (weniger Frust für Anfänger) Was gut gefällt: Abwechslungsreiche Bosse mit interesanten und teils fiesen Move-Sets und Bullet-Muster. Was nicht so gut gefällt: Kollisionsabfrage Schiff 2 Bullet manchmal etwas unpräzise. Schiff wird trotz Abstand getroffen. Kommt zwar nur sporadisch vor, kann auf den hohen Stufen der Schwierigkeit, denoch nerven. Musik ist eher mau... & Unterdurchschnittlich also in Schulnoten eine 4 Minus (80er Jahre Standart) Fazit: Sehr guter Einsteiger-Reflex-SHMUP. Veteranen können den Schwierigkeitgrad direkt auf Hart stellen. Vollpreis: 8,5 Im Sale: 9
