Beware, it’s not a walk in the park
I honestly do not even know where to begin. Mazgeon has me completely overwhelmed. Usually, when procedural levels are created, they follow certain rules to keep things somewhat fair. Mazgeon, on the other hand, allows the generation to be unfair, so if a monster that can kill you in one hit has to appear, it can happen and in fact it will happen, because it is a game where dying is devilishly easy, your warrior starts with 30 health, the traps? 40 damage, easy. In each level, your goal is to grab as much loot as you can and find the dungeon exit before time runs out. The frustrating part is losing all that loot if you die, although you can bribe Death with it but it is not cheap. The progression its kinda more like a roguelite, with its permanent items and upgrades that stick with you between runs. Even though everything I just said might sound negative, the truth is that I am completely hooked. The game is visually stunning, beautifully crafted, and deeply interesting. You never really know what you are going to find, or more importantly, what is going to kill you this time. I cleared up my doubts with the demo, and it convinced me right away. I recommend you do the same. This game has been sitting in my wish list for a couple of years now. Decent little time killer. Don't pick the wizard class....
I am having a good time with it, but take into account it is arcade and to be honest a bit difficult at the beginning, but only if you do not take the time to level up the items.
