Really good game
this is an amazing game honestly for what it is. I wish there was just more loot. it just really has the 3 stores that you get loot from and they increase in rarity with each playthrough. some loot does drop randomly after some boss fights. it would be really cool if each boss had their own unique weapon with slightly better stats than the rest and with an ability unique only to itself. pls keep updating the game I do wish more content was available but I cant complain with four fats because they are such a small dev team. overall pretty good game with interesting juggle mechanics and a small end game after you beat all difficulties (pls continue to add more stuff in hope that the game doesnt die).
I was expecting a cheaply made mobile game with stat grinding in place of real gameplay, but I couldn't have been more wrong! Maximus 2 is a super impressive beat 'em up with excellent pacing from beginning to end, and an astonishing amount of variety. There are tons of different enemy types, lots of great memorable boss fights, and enough stage gimmicks to make every level feel distinct. It's a constant roller coaster going from one cool set piece to another, and there's a million little scenes in between fights that introduce bosses, transition between levels and just generally contribute to an awesome narrative flow throughout the game. This game legitimately has some of the most exciting presentation of any beat 'em up I can think of, with countless memorable moments, no real downtime or boring stretches, and surprises more or less around every corner. It calls to mind games like Denjin Makai 2, Undercover Cops and Zero Team - which is no small praise! The combat is arguably a little basic but it's very functional and controls great. The developers definitely achieved their goal of satisfying-feeling combat, and aside from the characters feeling good to control I was especially impressed with all the boss fights being both fun and mechanically very distinct. I've only done one playthrough on Normal difficulty - and I can tell from the trailers on this store page that there's a ton of content I haven't even seen yet - and I'm already blown away by the huge amount of cool stuff in this game. I'm definitely eager to play the game more, try out all the characters, and discover more of what the game has to offer. I would strongly recommend any fan of arcade beat 'em ups to check this game out!
A good port from mobile, and worth the money. I hope they expand the game by providing extra updates such as achievements and even playing cards (to collect). There were a few minor bugs, but they ultimately didn't hinder the main game play. It still has responsive controls, a good UI, and an overall smooth experience. Hoping that after the release of the next game, we'll get some technical and content updates, especially here on PC. This has good potential in being a great Beat-em-up.
simple yet addictive. the couch co-op lets me have fun with my nephew
It's pretty fun but it's quite short seeing as how it was originally a mobile game. I just hope we get more someday, or maybr a sequel. I really love how there's just a random MOBA in here as well. It's a bit bare bones but it's real and playable and has enough depth to get a few plays out of it. I wish more games did this, just throw in random ass game modes that have 0 connection to the base game. I want the next gears of war to have a side level dedicated entirely to platforming and another to a MOBA. I want the next Mario game to have an outlast like level off to the side. Every game should do this, I don't care how much time they dedicate to it, it's funny and a great change of pace, plus you have to manually select it from the world map so it doesn't get in the way of the base story. The only problem I have is that there also isn't more of that one siege battle. It's fun as and the website for the game implies that there's more than one, which there isn't (unless hard mode adds more) It's fun as watching as you slowly lose more of the castle, seeing all the unique heroes fight (some you ONLY find in that level, same goes for the MOBA level) That's basically the only problem with this game, I want more of it. There's so much good stuff here, so many good ideas and it's over so quickly. All in all its totally worth the money and I really hope we get some more.
