used to love the game when I was a kid. Sadly now everytime I try to start it up I get `direct X surface unavailabe` no matter what patch I put on it...

One of those games where the previous iteration of the game is significantly better. lots of things seem to have gotten worse since 2...

So many ways to change how the game is played.

Amazing and underrated game. It takes a lot of dedication. You won't find anything like it. It became one of my all time favorite games, and I have played many. You can still find good patches and mods for it (before the really old website eventually finally shuts down). Be warned however; some were never fully cleansed of bugs. The vanilla game contains many bugs, and it is recommended to use at least the Vanilla version of the unofficial patch. The Tropical and Strawberry versions of the UOP are cool but they have various game-breaking bugs in them. You can experiment with adding/removing mods from Strawberry/Tropical (they are large mod collections) if you wish.

そのまんまじゃ話にならないので、modやらパッチ当てないとゲームになりません。その辺まで可能な人だとゲーム内音楽や基本的なグラフィックの差し替えなんかも出来るようになっていると思うので、そうなって来るとゲームよりも改造の方が面白いかもしれません。

I've been putting this game off for a long time, but Master of Orion 2 is too easy and I have to get started in this one. I'm very blessed to have the option available.

Surprisingly bad barely does justice, it got all the worst aspects of the second game and made them worse. The only redeeming feature of it, if any, is the level of automation it offers, fleet types, and the interesting granularity of the terraforming system. The graphics are surprisingly wonky, blurred.

Очень интересная игра. Играл на другой платформе и на Русском языке. Бесконечное число интересных исследований. Всегда играл на самой высокой сложности игры. Много раз перепроходил игру. Таких игр бы побольше.
