Scam
Do not recommend. After activating the out of body feature error and game crashes. LowLevelFatalError [File:Unknown] [Line: 198] Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device beeing lost.[Error: 0x887A0006 - 'HUNG'] Unfortunately it even corrupted my save file. Tested in new game, same. Contacted developer 3 times (08.08.2024, 25.08.2024 and 06.09.2024) no response. Tried to get a refund, unfortunately rejected.
Abandonware
Sure love being promised more then being told the early access is in fact the final product
Dev abandoned the game. It's a cool concept and could have been so much more.
Master Bladesmith is such an unique game for what is offers. Smithing swords, fletching bows, using said swords and bows in a gauntlet is alot of fun. Challenging too. It can get very grindy and its hardly a fun combo if you are standing up straight in VR waiting for the mines to generate gems for even more smithing. I can safely say I enjoyed it and it's a shame that it's still too buggy to truly shine, but that will sadly not get fixed. This is why I leave a negative review. If you think you can handle the bugginess the game offers, then it's worth picking up on a sale. 70% off or more maybe. The most interesting part about the game (as you can read from other negative reviews) is about the dev essentially giving up halfway on the game's development. While the game remained in early access, the dev decided to instead work on another game instead of fully developing this one, as stated in the latest steam post by them. This next game, with no doubt in my mind, will also be released in early access, and can easily be abandoned the same way this game was. I don't wish to pre-emptively leave a negative review on a game that doesn't exist yet, this is simply a cautionary warning for people who wish to see more of this dev's work.
abandonware dont buy
Pretty fun, rough around the edges, but fun. The issue being that the potential is wasted by the fact that the dev has abandoned any updates.
Not trusting the devs to finish "the next game" if they're so prone to abandon them
enjoyed it immensly! its not ever going to be a fully complete game, some seem angry and this is somewhat understandable as its still rough around just about every edge and not exactly done. the thing is, even in its rough state its still possibly the best VR smithing and the fact that we officially wont be getting any more updates is sad. that being said this still is an awsome smithing game and i am yet to find its rival! there are still some glitches, thats a bummer for sure, however if this frees the devs up to make something new from scratch then im on board. the thing is the core bones of this game are worth the money, ive sunk about 22 hours into this and its still fun. i have other things to do with my time so ive gotten out of the reutine, but it was good while it lasted. as fra as a what to expect out of the game heres what to expect, a satisfying gameplay loop that fairly samey but always progressing with each level. you probably wont complete the game, youll just play until your bored of the loop. its not a scam, its just a game that had too many ideas. the time room which is the room to test your crafted weapons is fun sometimes, but often glitchy and will throw nearly impossible targets at you. i still dont know how i feel about this. to the devs, thanks! i really hope the smithing and money changing elements make it into whatever game your making next!
