Doesn't get past the launch screen without a controller plugged in, which is annoying but not the worst. The bigger problem is that once you get past the opening cut scene it says "cannot play without an online connection" and can't do anything past that Pop-Up. From what I found in community posts, it's something from It's DRM and it seems like a lot of trouble to get around it. all my play time is sitting in the language select screen to farm steam crads.
At a glance, I thought this game was something like a PS2 era 3D brawler/platformer. I got it as part of a Humble Bundle in 2020, and now finally got aroung to playing it. I am glad, that I did not pay the full price for this game. The game is a buggy mess. If you are actually able to start the game without a crash, things like the bad hit registration and a camera, that will make you sick from flicking around all the time, will force you to quit the game ASAP. Skip this one, even if you already own it, like I did.
Kopierschutz veraltet, Spiel lässt sich nicht spielen nach der EIngangssequenz. Auf das installieren ungeprüfter Zusatzdateien wie im Guide vorgeschlagen sollte man ebenso verzichten.
It sucks when I have to not recommend a game that I actually liked for the most part, but a series of crashes REALLY soured my mood on it. I tried to fix it, but it was inconsistent at best. I managed to get the game running long enough to beat it, and its roughly 3 hours of knock off Arkham Asylum fighting. If it worked well, it would be a fine, short distraction, but the technical problems gets thumbs down from me.
Infinite loading screen after first level. Do not play, game is busted.
Just bad, and not even in the interesting ways you would think. Everything but the characters look like they were constructed out of stock assets. Gameplay is dead simple, but implementation is still massively bungled (see other reviews). Sells itself on comedy, but writing is boring, acting cringe. The two protagonist's character designs (and all female characters) are overtly sexualized (nipples poking through clothes on literally every female character), feels out of place in a kid's game. Also, technical issues to the point of being basically unfinishable. Poor performance overall. Scaling is wonky when you open the game, need to change resolutions every time you start up to display correctly. First time I booted, no sound outside cutscenes (merciful in hindsight). The kicker: if you press the "go to next level" button at the end of a level, the game crashes while saving EVERY TIME. This erases (or at least corrupts) ALL of your save data, not just the save data for the level you just completed. This is why I dropped the game, playtime is so short. These are just the issues I experienced, and judging by other's accounts I dodged most of the major bullets.
good
Confirmed, it's unplayable. When you start it, there's a cheesy animated sequence, then when the game is about to start you get an error: "You must be online in order to play Masquerade: The Baubles of Doom". Don't like that requirement at all, yet I confirmed I was online by browsing. But the message won't let you into the game, online or not. Fix it or take it off the store please!
