Masquerade Kiss

I like how there is a meter at the beginning of each chapter to show which ending you'll get. Also this story has a shared universe with another game from the same designer called kissed by the baddest bidder and some of those characters appear as well. I like how you play as the main character whose a spy. Any way maybe its pure fiction but still a good read. Note: there are some triggers like s*x, trauma, S&M, and what is love? So Have fun :)

I have red this already through the mobile app only to finish with a Good Ending, before Voltage decided to release it to Steam. I really do recommend getting it on Steam when it's on sale and start reading it. There is a little romcom, the genre is a little more mature than their usual old works Voltage inc. has released. I would describe their previous works as High School romance, with obstacles with unnecessary drama/riddles and not too hard to get towards the character's Happy Endings. All 4 characters have their unique characteristics and differences so I would give them all a try. If you want specials and Holiday stories then I would recommend installing the mobile Love 365 app. So far, this is my favorite out of their previous works, the MC is not some weak female protagonist that needs protecting all the time. Pros: - you get to read all of the character's stories. - do NOT need to buy each individual stories/seasons. - read it through the big screen or monitor through steam. - light novel. - if you like Mature stories, this is the one. - all rich 2D men Cons: - there are only 14 stories individually for the 3 main spotlights characters and 12 stories for the 1 character (if you want more with a little spice then Love 365 is the way to go). - there are no special and holiday stories included. My Thoughts on Characters Slight Spoiler: Kazuomi Shido and Yuzuru Shiba are my top favorite while Kei Soejima is the middle and the Boss is my dead last since I do not like his vibe and type of characteristics. I would say the Boss is viewed as the Villain if you are not doing your job right. If you red 3/4 of the characters that is NOT the boss, he is viewed as somewhat a "villain". My Thoughts: I do hope Voltage does add more characters, stories and hopefully keeps up the consistency with the current stories they have on their app and what steam does not currently have. If you reached the MAX and have nothing to read, I would suggest installing Love 365 on mobile if you want to read more because for sure, there are so many more stories there than on steam... for now. Let's just hope Voltage does update and adds more stories. So that concludes my review.

Yuzuro was too cold and distant for a pleasant otome story:) But he surprisingly reminded me a lot: devoting all of my time to work and hobbies it's a question if I even want to squeeze some real relationship there. So he felt relatable and therefore fun but it's not what I usually expect from a romance novel. And by the way the very name of the game is in Japanese, I tried to find 'Masquerade Kiss' to add to my favs in the group but it didn't work:( That's why it's also complicated to search for CGs in my steam collection :(( I wish it were fixed. If it were one game, ok, some unknown Japanese symbols at the very end of the list of my games :) BUT now I have several Voltage otome so I can never figure out which novel exactly that is :( --too many flashbacks to my taste:( My memory is not that bad, why constant reminders of what has happened before :(( --some flashbacks were painfully annoying T_T as with absolutely every sentence the whole screen flickered anew :(( It was unbearable :( --I still can't get used to these settings :(( For me they are totally inconvenient. **Spoiler free** First off the stories in this game were way more entertaining for me, I liked the longer main stories then the couple of shorter epilogues i suppose you could call them. The main stories felt they went into more detail and didn't jump ships all the time. They felt more natural and just overall entertaining. Now yes, they are predictable but the characters are a lot more in depth you can ignore that part. These stories also felt a bit more mature than others I've come across so that's a bonus too. The different endings almost indicate how in detail you want the romance to be, normal is a fairly clean end, Super happy is a read between the lines kinda deal and the Eden endings.. Well you definitely know what's going on. So if you want a cleaner play-through take that into consideration. The art was beautiful, like most of these games it never fails to look utterly gorgeous. You get plenty of different shots with each character that almost makes me swoon, even those EE ones… phew.. The FMC is a lot more tolerable to play in this game than others I've done, i found my personality lined up at times with hers which made getting the SHE and EE really easy. You do have choices and unfortunately it doesn't matter what you pick the story goes in the direction it has to however this game is set up so that there are more dialogue opportunities rather than the ‘run/don't run’ kinda choices. I liked all the characters in this one, unlike other games there is always one guy i loathe but in this game i was entertained by all. There was one character I got my hopes impossibly high for and it crashed and burned a bit but the story was still entertaining. They had a lot of depth to them which i felt was a really cool detail to have in these games. And OH MY GOSH the cameos! If you haven't played ‘Kissed By The Baddest Bidder’ then they won't mean anything to you, but I literally screamed when my boys appeared on screen, I was just happy for them mentioning them let alone them actually showing up, i got to see my baby Soryu again! I was a little sad that Luke didn't compliment my bones this time around though. There are some mistakes littered through the game, not enough to make it impossible to play but there are a few that are hard to ignore. But for a translated game I think overall it's good, the conversations flow nicely and naturally. Now the real question once again, What order do I rate the boys in?? Yuzuru - Boss - Kazuomi - Kei Yuzuru’s story to me felt the most natural, I even got misty eyed at some bits. I really loved Yuzuru's character, his personality and his art… The Boss was the next one and this one kept me hooked right through. I found this story the best and the boss’ art you unlock is just jaw dropping. Kazuomi surprised me, as nonchalant as he comes across, he does have that fiery side. He is somewhat mature considering what most characters are like in his position so that was a refreshing change. Kei, i really, really wanted to love this man but the more i played his story the more pissed off i got. I did like his story and the depth but.. ARGH! So once again, I have invested too much time into these kinda games but it was honestly worth it. Do I already have another game lined up for after this one? Yes Should you play it? Yes!!! I paid full price for this game and yes it is a little hefty but for this one I felt satisfied that I didn't mind that I did. Out of all the ones I have played, this one was worth every dollar I paid.

I had not much fun with my time in the game. Here are my main Problems: - It is a giant pain that the menu is not in english by default, so that if you want to play the game, you are forced to klick everything until you find the button that changes the language. - The music is very loud and during your mission they play short clips on a constant loop, which makes it very annoying. - The Boss route handled nearly being raped way to casualy, from your "Boss" but also from the MC. - and the Price of the Game is way to high.

The things i would do to Kuzuomi is down right bad... but also im so happy it mentions a lot of my favourite boys from Kissed by the baddest bidder :D ---- After completing all but the boss' route i found the story actually really grabs you particularly kei's route i found myself crying more times than i ever thought i would. This led to kei's route being my favourite by far even though i do love kuzuomi i found learning about him more exciting even though i feel like they both might need a little therapy together. It is however really obvious who the main lead is as sometimes the story doesn't match up i.e in the prologue why would i lips kuzuomi if im with kei and i wish there was a way not to play the prologue for season 2 every time. However, its a really small issue i had i still love the game im really interested on how we will get the extra content (season 3+) but i do think the game is worth it even though its more than their average voltage game the OST was really catchy and i really enjoyed season two's songs the most ---- Overall: If you wanted to get the game i really do recommend it the story is great although it is a little more pricey

I've seen some reviews saying this is one of the better Voltage games, however I didn't really feel like it. I liked the premise and thought it would give an opportunity to play as a badass assertive MC, which is presented to be, but I felt like MCs in Her Love In The Force and Romance M.D. left a more lasting impression on me. In this game there are only four love interests, and I recommend reading their stories in the following order: 1) The Boss (I didn't really feel compelled to play his story after finishing the others) 2) Kei [spoiler](alternatively, skip this one entirely. It touches upon the topic of CSA and deals with it in a not-so-delicate manner)[/spoiler] 3) Yuzuru 4) Kazuomi - cherry on top! Story-wise I liked season 1, but didn't really feel compelled to play season 2 for any of LIs. If you ask me if you should play it, I'd give a tentative yes, but preferably when the game is on sale.

Finally Voltage! You guys did it right this time. I started reading Voltage VN’s back in the day when Pirates Love was on iso. Your audiences are no longer in their early 20’s. Please release more games like this targeting mature audiences!

This was generally quite enjoyable, but not all the routes are created equal. One thing I'll say is that in all the routes MCis generally well written, strong and not annoying. As for the routes: my personal ranking is Boss > Yuzuru > Kazumi > Kei Kei's story is kinda heavy and at times I'm not sure what to make of it and Kazumi's second story was quite boring which dragged down his story in general (but both his and Yuzuru's story had me at the edge of my seat at multiple moments). My biggest complaints are mainly that the CG's also don't display properly most of the time which is annoying (you can still see them properly through the main menu after you're done reading) and they do this annoying flashing screen thing during flashbacks. Also, there's no flexibility when it comes to what you wanna play. So if you read Season 1 on Love 365 and got this app now you have to read it all over again before the game allows you to proceed. If you're not enjoying a part of a story or don't want to read his POV, too bad. You gotta slog through it if you wanna continue. In general though, the story is fun to read and the art is beautiful so I do recommend it despite the lack of polish.
