Masks of Deception is a 6 player horror game where you must use teamwork, equipment, and sensing abilities to identify then exorcize the demon in your group... otherwise the demon will slay you first.
Note: Dead PvP game This game contains no meaningful single player content. There are no available servers and no player population. This game cannot be played as intended.
This is another crap "Town of Salem/Werewolf/Mafia/Among Us" wannabe, a social deduction game where one player is the bad guy, etc etc. The only interesting question about this train wreck is "Who abandoned it first?" The developer, or the players? The answer? Nobody cares. So, Masks Of Deception is a dead PvP game. Why did it fail? It's video game autopsy time! Almost every PvP exclusive game on Steam fails. Only a tiny proportion of them "go viral". This game failed for many of the same reasons those others fail. The chief of which is the developer thinking that their game will "go viral" without actually creating any reason for it do so. Competition amongst PvP centric games is extreme, and there's only a finite player base to appeal to. This game failed to reach any kind of critical mass and died as a result. Let's go into some of the reasons this particular game failed to appeal to gamers, despite the zero up front cost. First and foremost, there's no meaningful single player content. The developer gambled that other players would be an acceptable substitute for adding storytelling, level design etc to the Game. They lost that bet. Without a huge community of players or single player content to add a lasting value to the game, the game dies. Developers must learn that other players are not an acceptable substitute for adding content to a game. The developers abandoned this 2 years and 9 months ago. It will never be completed. This unfinished game is just polluting Steam and making it harder for gamers to find genuinely, completely made games. I'm not sure if this is an asset flip, but it's one of those cases where the assets just look much better than the rest of the quality of the game... a glaring inconsistency. There's no evidence, but as always, the biggest problem with asset flips besides the plagiarism is the deplorably low quality of the other aspects of the game, and even if the game assets are genuinely created for the game, the quality of the rest of the game is indistinguishable from that of asset flips. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $14 USD for this. Talk about delusions of grandeur. Price barriers, especially on unfinished, low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. This is a slap in the face to anyone naive enough to back this project thinking the developer would make good on their promises. Instead, the developers kept the money from all the backers they scammed. Not a single cent has been refunded. Despite having no up-front cost, this failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at less than 100 concurrent players, they couldn't even break three figures, and now there's basically nobody playing it. Even though it's free. This is a dismal public reception, but it's easy to see why gamers rejected it. Bearing in mind that free games don't add +1 to your game collector count, should you bother adding this to your library and downloading it? Nope. This isn't worth downloading. While this didn't cost me any money up front, I still feel ripped off.

anything but Rides With Strangers
No sales de la pantalla de carga, diversión asegurada.
Bought it for support and now its free to play. Good sign for a developer who have lost their mind. Thanks in advance, unfollowed and no looking further into this projects from him. best regards
Note: The last update that the developers made was more than 3 years ago. The information and timeline described here by the developers may no longer be up to date. You don't get off the loading screen, realistic simulator of being a stone... everything is black.
